So yeah.
Apparently Tuti signed with an agency (all these years he's been "free" meaning he finds his own jobs as opposed to people like Nagayan and all the rest of *pnish* which have managers to help them out). I wasn't sure if it was just some old info that hadn't been updated or something, but as Mitsuru has now commented on it, it's pretty much official.
I really don't know why but...it kinda depresses me? It just disappoints me. All this time, I thought it was really cool--he was finding his own work, didn't have a manager herding him around, was his own man, and now...
*sigh* gah, I mean, it shouldn't matter. None of the other guys have managers that seem to hang around them like Tamacchi does Nagayan (or at least, not that I've ever noticed), so it shouldn't be that big a deal. And I don't THINK it's because he's having trouble finding work (or maybe it is? Gah >_<), but still...
It feels like everything's changing :/ I just hope that, in the end, the good changes outweigh the bad.

Date: 2008-11-21 01:43 pm (UTC)I can't say I'm not a bit disappointed as well, even though it probably (hopefully) doesn't make a big difference.
When I think Tuti, I think a guy who is who he is and doesn't need "managing" in that way. I didn't even think he wanted to get involved with any agency, but it just goes to show you can't figure the man out.
It's strange though, signing up with an agency after all these years. :S For some reason it doesn't sit right with me, but Tuti probably knows what he's doing...
Edit: *points below* I wish I could be that rational XD They're probably right, too.

Date: 2008-11-21 03:45 pm (UTC)I DON'T KNOW. I'm not thinking clearly, because I haven't gotten over the initial "Tuti? An agency?" shock.
I like my Tuti individual and not caring about conventions, e.g. "being an actor, you have to have an agency". :(

Date: 2008-11-21 07:16 pm (UTC)Also, sometimes there are opportunities it's hard to get without a rep- for example, some people won't talk to actors directly, it isn't how they operate.
Also...maybe this is actually part of a plan to take *pnish*, and himself, even bigger. (What I'm saying is, maybe he didn't have much of a choice)
Edited just to say that I'm not just throwing random stuff out there, lol...I have experience with semi-professional theater, and I have a group of friends who struggle with these issues as professional actors/performers, so I can somewhat imagine what Tuti might be going through. :)

Date: 2008-11-21 02:18 pm (UTC)With every production/job, there's a ton of paperwork, phone calls, negotiating, appointments (for example, some production companies, for insurance purposes, require actors to have a doctor sign off on their health), stuff to remember, you get the idea. Add that to a busy rehearsal schedule (+ all the outside work of memorizing lines and such), and having to look for new work in the future (which can take up a bit of time, previewing scripts, networking etc), and you've got a huge load. A load that is probably doable but more prone to mistakes and that doesn't leave time for, you know, boyfriends and stuff. ;D Anyway, so it makes sense to divide up the work.
I hope that makes you feel better about the situation...I know it sucks to have (y)our image of him shaken up like that. :)

Date: 2008-11-21 03:23 pm (UTC)I do hope things stay the same, I bet he's doing it because he's finding a lot of work and just needs help managing it like the others have said. It is strange to see though.

Date: 2008-11-23 01:40 am (UTC)Buuut, that being said, I'm a bit let down that he's not free and unrestrained by keepers and all that now, too... Doesn't fit his image as well, I guess? Or at least my image of him, maybe?

Date: 2008-11-24 04:40 am (UTC)I'm not at all disappointed, though. If signing up to an agency does good on him, then I think it's a right decision and I can't be disappointed at all.
