I fucking haaaaaaaate efiction.
If you have whole FORUMS dedicated to people who have problems with your product, THAT SHOULD TELL YOU SOMETHING.
Dammit, no one look at the StrawberryWine fic archive til I sort this shit out >:/

Date: 2008-09-05 04:48 pm (UTC)Like I said -- maybe a masterlist works for you, plus those are your personal choices. But it's multiple fandoms (mine's a single-fandom archive), you can't sort, you can't read any one pairing unless you do a Find.
Unless they knew and trusted that person's judgement of fic ahead of time, I don't think many people would consult someone else's list of fics before heading to an archive full of all kinds of search and sorting features given the two choices.

Date: 2008-09-05 04:51 pm (UTC)a. write VERY few pairing fics--I'm almost 95% G-rated, and most have no pairing in mind
b. tag using a pretty good tag system that's understandable at a glance
c. am too lazy to set up a proper archive that allows me to do what you say efiction can. XD Which may be the biggest reason. You get yours up and running and I'll go poke at it to see if I like the thing. ^_^

Date: 2008-09-05 04:56 pm (UTC)Myu/*pnish* fandom has a huge cast, and so it's really well-fitted to an archive style, hence why I started it.
And this post is now kinda moot, cause I finished reupping the old files and everything is back to normal <3333 (well, as normal as it was before -- it's been up for something like a year or more, and has 100 or so authors I think, most of whom are just crossposting from LJ for posterity's sake).
You're welcome to check it out here (http://www.strawberrywine.org/efiction/index.php) (ignoring the off-kilter code in places where I haven't had time to properly tweak the CSS and make it pretty XD;;;) if you like, but I warn ya: 90% of the stuff on there is RPS, so you might want to stay away since it's not your cuppa tea :P
If you know the archive JumpyBoys for Jump manga series, they use (used?) eFiction :) That's how I found it originally.
