A&M Friday classes CANCELLED

An excerpt from an email from Dr. Robert Gates, President of Texas A&M University:

Classes will be cancelled on Friday and University offices will be
closed. We expect to re-open Monday morning, but staff and students
should check the University web-page for an update on this after 5
p.m., Sunday the 25th.

Hehe. Now that I think about it, it's mine too, I think...though there were a couple of days where it was raining hard enough that my brothers and I didn't go to school. Because we're lazy like that.

Our school closed at noon today becuase we're in Houston and Rita's expected to hit us. Dear gods, I'm SO scared! I'm from the desert, dude!! Never been in a hurricane and the area's going apeshit!

thanks for the offer, hun, but at the moment, College STation is on one of the main evacuation routes, meaning the freeway is a parking lot. We were gonna be heading to San Antonio, but are still in Houston, because I-10 is a parking lot. And there's no gas anywhere along the highways, either. Gas stations are empty and we're afriad we're gonna get caught on the side of the road with an empty tank and stuck in the path of Rita.

Right now, we're battening down the hatches and hoping for the best. Still scared, majorly anxious, but we're gonna see it through. If ya want, I'll email/IM to let you know I'm still alive. Talk to you laters.

I went to Virginia Tech for my undergrad which is in the FREAKING MOUNTAINS, and we had one blizzard that had to shut down the whole town. Crazy I tell ya..

Did you get your batteries, flashlights, and water? My mom is freaking out.. blah.. love having hysterical mothers on the phone.

btw - you're too funny describing your Japanese conversation :) I actually have a PhD student in my ecology class from Japan.. he's kinda cute ;D

And I STILL can't believe this is the first time you've gotten out of school. Georgia lets out all the time. I once got out because it was too cold. Seriously. No ice, no snow, no rain. Just cold. Anything in the teens causes us to shut down man. That's why I know I can't move up North.

At thsi point, you think I'm gonna complain about shouta issues in DNAngel doujins? HELL NO. Those things are, like, NONEXISTANT. So I'll take what I can get; if she wants, just scan a few pages, I'll make sure I'd be fine enough to have her go through the trouble (since it IS a pain to scan), and we'll go from there.
