BECAUSE HE GIVES ME CRACK INTERVIEWS LIKE THIS:

(from a Feb 2005 interview with Nagayan)

Nagayan: [having just finished praising Takigawa for wonderful work on a recent play] -- "But, while I was watching, I kind of fell asleep through part of it (haha)"
TakiEiji: [trying to save face] "(haha) Even I fell asleep through some of the performance."
Nagayan: [in what I imagine is a completely deadpan voice] "...Umm, that was a joke just now."

[later in the interview, the pair talk about their first meeting for TeniMyu]

Nagayan: "The first time I met you, you felt more like an older brother."

Nagayan: "...All right, first of all? It's BLOSSAM, not 'blassam'. When you get stuff like that wrong, don't you think that might be why people wonder if we're friends?"
