Okay! I've made it home relatively safely now, so just to remind everyone and let them know: I'm perfectly all right, and so are everyone I know, thank goodness!

Getting home was an adventure: the trains still weren't running even at 6 PM, so I decided to take the bus, since well, I had to get home. There was one that went to Ikebukuro right in front of our building, so I stuffed myself in there and spent an hour as a sardine XD; Soooo much traffic and so many people! When I got to Ikebukuro, I'd hoped maybe the trains would be back up and running. However, not only were they not back up yet...

The entire station was shuttered, keeping everyone outside in the cold :(

I started the long trek home and was really surprised at how many people were out on the streets--and realized it's because well, what else was there to do? If you wanted to get home, walking was really your only hope, seeing as the streets were packed with cars already, and even the dingiest little eateries were packed with customers. Stretches of road typically devoid of people were packed to the brim, craziness!

I eventually made it home after 2+ hours of trying, and thankfully (I know Beri will be disappointed in this), my bookcase was not tipped over!! In fact, I didn't really have much damage to deal with--though my fridge door came open and sat that way for 5 hours, blah :P

There was one major casualty though...

;____; My beloved mug, a present from [livejournal.com profile] analineblue several years back that I often used as a conversation starter and really liked because it was so big... Thank you, and good night sweet muggy prince ;____;

The one good thing to come out of this, though?

今日は森山さんに会う予定でしたがテンペストの公演が中止になったようで会う事も中止にします。

Today I was supposed to meet up with Moriyama-san, but since the Tempest performance was suspended, we decided to suspend our plans to meet up as well.

GOD KNEW I DIDN'T WANT EIJI AND NAGAYAN TO HANG OUT because really, I don't need another picspam post of Eiji's ass AND SENT AN EARTHQUAKE TO STOP IT. Huzzah? :/

There are still aftershocks going on, even 6 hours later, so...here's hoping tomorrow's a better day!

Glad to hear you're okay!! Thanks for letting us know. My dad called me this morning to tell me about the earthquake, then my mom called a little while later...the news was useless as expected, so I got online as soon as I could.

You said everyone else you know is okay, so I'm guessing that includes Liz and Hannah? I think they're the only other people I know in that area of Japan...

Your poor mug :(

I just saw the news right now! Even if the epicenter was more to the north, I don't know the details of how far the wave hit. I thought of anyone I know over there and... OMG! Seiji's over there! You just updated 7 am my time, so you should be alright.

Oh! I'm sorry about your mug! But maybe if you glued it together and made an altar for it... It must have been a harrowing experience.

*poke poke* PENCHY! I was wondering if you were still around. Totally inappropriate to shout excitement, since this is an earthquake survival/dead mug is dead post, but, still, HEY! Are you still in the New York City-ish area?

Fred! Long time no see. I'm around the same area. Living in the NJ coast now. I miss my NYC ;_; but oh well. Have been off the radar for a while now. Haven't update my LJ in more than a year. Drop me an email so we can catch up.

Glad to see you're all right. Woke up and saw Twitter absolutely exploding because of the quake, and then I realized, "SEIJI!", since you're there and all and stuff. But, yeah, glad you're fine. More random Japan stuff still to come! XD

Sucks about the mug though. Is it salvageable?

Hurray for making it home! Poor mug, though. I guess analineblue now has to give you a new one ^_~ Hopefully nothing major will happen, I heard that there is a nuclear emergency status in Japan due to one power station running out of electricity (what a paradox). Fingers crossed and keep us posted!

*mourns loss of mug* ;__; I'm glad that was the only casualty though? That's a big bookcase, after all... I'd hate to think of cleaning all that up. XD;;

Thank you for posting this. My father called me in the morning to tell me he'd heard about it in the news and I thought, shit, Nara's far away but I know people in Tôkyô and around and FUCKFUCKFUCK, I'm glad to know you're all right and... you can go online? That's awesome! I'm so glad I heard from you!

I'm glad (really!) to hear your bookcase was fine. Must be a very sturdy thing, which is good!

Also, I'm glad you were finally able to make it home, even if it took you a lot longer than you hoped. Just think of all the calories you burned from that walking! XD And at least you didn't have to walk along the train tracks.

YOU KNOW THEY'LL JUST MEET UP AGAIN SOME OTHER TIME! NAGAYAN'S LOVE OF EIJI'S ASS CANNOT BE BRUSHED ASIDE SO EASILY! :p

You're the first person I thought about this morning when I saw this blasting on the Spanish channel my Television was on. I know very little Spanish and have no idea why my tv was on that channel, but it was rather interesting to try and decipher at 7am with sleep bleary eyes and a slow brain that a level 8 disaster had happened somewhere in Asia. I finally made out that it was Japan and yelled "CNN, CNN!" at my tv until I could find the station.

So congrats and being alive, making it home safe, still having a home and rip wonderful mug.

Keep us updated and honestly if you need anything at all, let us know. I have a feeling there is going to be some weeks of pure suck ahead.
