I just--what in the hell is this??

(if you're not on [livejournal.com profile] kuroshitsuji, it's some technical theatre major or wannabe or something throwing out lots of jargon only those heavily involved in the field will understand to pretty much say, "lol so this production looks like SHIT so I'm wondering if it'd be even worth my time to deign to watch it or am I just gonna wanna scratch my eyes out cause ALL THE HAZING GUYS SCAFFOLDING CATWALK LIGHTING PLOT WAAAAH this free download of an anime musical must be perfect or it will soil my delicate vision" when asking the comm if it was even worth it to watch KuroMyu)

I'm not even that much into the KuroMyu shows, tbh, but listen. If you're getting it for free? You don't get to complain. Period. You can critique, but keep your biting commentary to your personal LJ and try not to disparage the actors and production team's hard work. And especially please don't act like this thing should be BEGGING for you to watch and enjoy it. Honey, they make plenty of cash already, and it's not because of their zomg amazing technical aspects.

And if you're not getting it for free--then why're you buying a show you don't even like??

That kind of stuff just pisses me off grandtime :| At least it was KuroMyu and not a fandom I really care about like BuriMyu or TeniMyu.

I mean--I know some of you are dance or theatre or music majors, right? Is it just that much trouble to turn down the criticism a tad and enjoy the show? I'm guessing not, because you manage to do it and enjoy the shows! SO PLEASE TELL ME WHY SHE CAN'T.

Argh, just :P *seethes* People need to look at their posts before clicking the button and rethinking, "Huh, does this make me seem like a snobby, entitled douchebag??"

I get you. I had wanted to tell her (him?) to just change her (his?) tone a little before posting. But some people may have their 'pet peeve' as that aspect. *scratches head*

IMO the techwork with KuroMyu was pretty good. It improved so much in the second musical, especially the lightning and usage of stage. IMO still doesn't beat BuriMyu Code 002's revoling 3 part stage. Holycrap that one! Then again, I never saw it live, so I wouldn't know how different it is from sitting in front of the computer watching the DVD. And for free - WE HAVE NO COMPLAINTS.

Ah, there will always be people who won't be content with something. She's (He's?) just one of them. >>;;

I'm not much a fan of KuroMyu for a variety of reasons but THE ZOMG HORRIBLE TECH was definitely not one of them :| She clearly just wants to feel smart and elitist-- what better way to show everyone just how amazing she is by spitting off a long list of terms that people probably don't understand and using them to say something just isn't good enough for her? I really doubt it's about the musical at all, she just has low self esteem and wants to prove to the world that she's better than them.

That being said, as (on of??) the resident dance major here, I have to be honest and say yeah, some of the stuff in most anime musicals does make me cringe a little. But it's just rude to go complaining about that sort of thing (when it clearly is not even the focus of these productions) to people who are giving it to you for free. If you already watched it and you really hate it, complain about it on your personal journal, but it takes such an utter lack of decorum to post something like that to a community. Take your insecurity somewhere else, seriously.

Couldn't agree more..... and I see many people commenting don't seem to have the problem this person does, and even if they do they still love it for other aspects, like the storyline and actors. Personally, that's why I watch these musicals, not for the technical aspects...

... That really pisses me off... especially as a fellow theater/tech geek.
He/she really needs to get over him/herself, especially considering he/she hasn't even SEEN the thing. >_> Ugh... he/she's complaining about unimportant things. It's not his/her show... he/she shouldn't complain, ESPECIALLY getting to watch it for free... *goeselswheretorant*

I totally, totally agree with you on this. I think there are a lot of people with music/theater/whatever background that watch this stuff for what it is, and obviously, nothing's perfect, but... Yeah. Totally ridiculous to look at it this way. And if you DO choose to look at this (or anything, probably, even huge Broadway-budget stuff) I think you're setting yourself up for disappointment. Which really isn't the best way to enjoy the shows. And if you're not in it to enjoy it, why bother?

Thank god this wasn't about Tenimyu or Burimyu though. XD;;; It makes me mad enough, reading that stuff, and I haven't even seen these shows! XD;;

This person is being really defensive in the comments, saying how they're just curious yet everyone just dogpiled them! Ugh. It's obvious they'd already made their mind up about the technical production in their post.

I don't really see what's wrong about having an abstract, sparse stage. She's worried that the lack of an awesome background will detract from her enjoyment of the actors' acting and the plot's interest? I kinda feel like that helps make the actors the focus.

Also, the catwalks and general use of the entire stage area really helped with the dynamics of the play in general. I'm quite impressed with how far they've come from the first one.

Aaaanyway, commented about it here because I'm afraid of drama if I were to post to the original post on kuroshitsuji. :B I don't have that comm on my watch list, so I missed the post at first anyway. Thanks for the heads up!

Well, maybe it won't be the new Hamlet, but I really enjoyed watching KuroMyu, and I think that's what counts.
I think there are people who enjoy being bohemian and take it too far.
Well, someone should tell them they are still humans, they can enjoy something even if it's not some post-modern theatre play written by someone who is either a genius or on crack, and that they can get a STD, too.
I... have an ex-friend who is like that...
*pissed off*
PS: Just, why the hell is she watching it? It's like those people who HATE Harry Potter and enjoy talking about how bad it is written... but read all the books as soon as they were available...
