TeniMyu Season 2 ILUSFM

omg so many many thoughts about nu!TeniMyu~!! BUT SO SPOILERY! So don't click the cut if you don't want to be spoiled :3

Soooo let's start off with some FACTS!

FACT: The show was 2.5 hours long! They split it fairly cleanly, with the first act being Ryoma entering Seigaku and getting a spot on the Regulars, 15-min break, and then the second act being about the Fudoumine matches. Surprisingly enough, it didn't really feel that rushed, though they did cut out fun little scenes like Bowling no Oujisama and the full scene at Kawamura Sushi (there's a short tag with the guys going to it after the Fudoumine matches, but not the actual scene). I was actually pretty satisfied with the pacing :3 Though I DO wonder how it'll be when they're trying to shove a whole two teams into one show like next time--the second act felt decidedly more rushed than the first, since the first only had 2 matches and the second had 4.

FACT: There are only three new songs. All the other songs? Your old standbys from the first two musicals! This is the Prince of Tennis, Spot, Golden Pair, Victory, Seigaku no Hashira ni Nare, Ore wa Momo-chan, the whole lot! New songs were: a new intro song (as opposed to The Regular; which I was happy about :D), new Echizen solo during his match with Shinji, and a new ending song (heard bits and snatches in the preview DVD). While I thought I'd be really disappointed that "my" first cast songs were being completely redone, it...wasn't nearly as bad as I thought (and you know I am one of those dang kids get off my porch!! fans :P). I do admit there is a little bit of me that feels all fist-shakey, just because like, it's never been anyone but Tuti singing, "Itsumademo idomi tsudzukete ikou!" to TakiEiji's, "Oishi!" (that I know of??), and now it's officially been sung by another cast in full ;~; BUT, given that they absolutely rocked all the songs, I feel really pleased. Plus, knowing that Nagayan and Kime (among others, but AFAIK they're the only 1st casters?) have both been to see the show and seem to have enjoyed the songs makes it a little better :D

FACT: UMM FRONT ROW CENTER IS TRULY AN AWESOME PLACE TO BE SITTING WATCHING THIS SHOW. NUFF SAID.

FACT: MITSUYA RYOU. JUST. Fuji's an okay character and all and I like him sure buuuut I was officially a Fuji fangirl for the night because of that boy :3 Not only was he beautiful doing Tsubame Gaeshi (fingersssssss, AND YOU KNOW I APPRECIATE A GOOD SET OF FINGERS), but at curtain, he just WAVED HIS LITTLE HEART OUT right at our 4-woman gaijin contingent and was so fucking adorable. Suffice to say we all turned to each other afterward and went, "Fuji photoset? Yesplz."

FACT: KOSEKI YUUTA IS BLOOD RELATED TO NAGAYAN. SOMEHOW. I just have to prove it :| I swear I could not look at that boy at any point during the show and not see Nagayan bouncing around up there. It's kind of unfortunate cause Jin is super hot and thus I couldn't imagine he was Tuti doesn't really look like Tuti in the leeeaaaast. Still, [fangirly thoughts] they made an adooooorable GP, with lots of skinship and smiley faces, and ffffff their photosets are linked (the 2nd IC shot is them both waving at someone else in the same hall, so obviously it's each other XD) and and and they are certainly no T2 outside of the show, but they still make me kind of wibbly when they say things like, "Kikumaru's actor, Koseki-kun, is also AB like me, and we share a lot of the same interests and like the same brands, so I think we're gonna be good friends" (Jin) and, "Golden Pair's Oishi and I have already synced our breathing! I'm pretty sure we're gonna be closer friends than anyone else!" (Yuuta) You guuyyyysssssssssss.

FACT: Yotti did a good job :3 *approves overall*

Everyone's singing was really good, too! No one sucked! :D
:: How about the dancing :D? Ibu in particular. I am kind of all over Okazaki because he's so awkward and confused-looking when it came to learning the steps and IT'S SO RIDICULOUSLY ADORABLE I WANT TO TAKE HIM HOME AND TUCK HIM INTO BED AND READ HIM BEDSIDE STORIES or something. Haha.

I didn't notice anyone sucking at dancing, but was actually really impressed with the dancing in general! No offense to Ueshima-sensei, but TeniMyu does NOT seem to be suffering with Motoyama taking over full-time as choreographer :33333

I still think Ueshima's best bit of choreography was Rikkai Second Service way back 2007, though that may just be my hiphop bias. Haha.

Also Okazaki looks like Adachi's and Baba's lovechild, I cannot for the life of me unsee it. He's like a beautiful train wreck I can't not stare at. It's like the first time I saw TakiYuki and swore he was Tuti's and Wasshi's beautiful buttbaby.

IKR. HAHAHAHAHA. That was my first impression of Okazaki, too. There's something about his forehead and eyes that is so very Adachi, and below the eyes the shape of his face is very Babaryo. MAYBE THAT'S WHY I GOT ATTACHED TO HIM IMMEDIATELY LOLOLOLOLOLOL. Plus he's SCRAWNY, too. Chalk up another one for the TeniMyu Feeding Program. XDDDD
