First off, someone help me! A while back, someone posted a fic (to a drabble meme, maybe?) which involved Tuti taking Nagayan to visit his father's grave, to introduce Nagayan. I don't recall where I read it, but seeing Tuti mention today that he's back in Yamanashi right now visiting his father's grave reminded me of it ;~; And now I want to read it again! Sound familiar to anyone??

In other news: CONGRATS ON OPENING DAY, BLOOD PRISONER CAST!! Let's check real quick: WILL TUTI GO SEE THIS SHOW??

1) Is Takashi the star? YES!

2) Do people die? Tsk, duh.

3) Does Takashi die? erm, well...technically I guess he does? But as they say in True Blood--not the true death! So we'll go with YES!

4) Does he go crazy before he dies? For once, no! XD

5) Does he die in a chick's arms? THANK GOD NO. At least, we don't see it--so we'll go with "no"! It's a better outcome anyways.

RESULT: "Borrow the DVD from him later"

Oh Tuti :P Don't wait for the DVD! Do not pass Go, Do not collect 20,000 yen. GO SEE THIS SHOW! FUCKYES IT WAS A GOOD SHOW, FINALLY!

Between Shinsengumi and Shiawase ni Naritai, I think I'd forgotten what it felt like to see a show he was in and really be satisfied with it, much less actually LIKE it! And I LIKED THIS SHOW! Let's recap the basic plot:

Nagayan is Junsuke, a kind of my-pace smart-ass journalist who lives together with his...best friend? Reluctant roomie? XD Not sure about their relationship beyond being friends, but he lives in an apartment together with Ten'ichirou aka "Ten-chan", played exceedingly well by KusafutaSouta :D Ten-chan is a detective and, quite the opposite of Junsuke, is very down to earth and serious, reluctantly putting up with Junsuke's antics like bringing home girls to try and hit on them when he's been repeatedly asked NOT to.

One day, Junsuke stumbles in and scrambles for the first-aid kit, disinfecting a nasty bite he got from a bat in the park, and falls asleep on the couch with gauze wrapped around his neck. Ten'ichirou finds him in this state and worriedly tries to convince him to go to a hospital, but Junsuke doesn't think it's a big deal, until he realizes he's thirsty and not for water--he needs the red stuff and nothing else will do! He and Ten-chan slowly but surely come to realize what's happened, and while Junsuke himself isn't so sure of what to do, Ten-chan is absolutely bound and determined to make sure his friend lives a long and healthy life, even if it means others have to die for it.

Being a cop, Ten'ichirou has a good idea of where ne'er-do-wells hang out, and who's going to really object to a bunch of baddies going missing? So every night, he lures home rapists, pimps, and murderers, convincing them to enter his abode--where they are all quickly dispatched and drained by Junsuke. Since the bodies turn into nothing but dust after Junsuke drains them fully, there's no evidence, and they have a relatively good racket going until Ten'ichirou's boss starts to get suspicious after recognizing the groaning form hidden behind the couch as a notorious criminal (she came over to get drunk with her underling, and Junsuke hadn't finished draining the baddie).

At the same time, Junsuke's being tracked by Tsukijima Satoru (Shindou Gaku...whose voice is like LIQUID SEX HOLY SHIT DDDDD8) and Kei, a brother and sister vampire pair...who are muy creepy >___> Satoru is crazy in love with his little sister and feels her up at every given moment in an obsessive manner, and Kei hates what she's become but doesn't want to hurt her "niisan". To make matters even worse, turns out JUNSUKE LIED about being bitten by a bat, as he'd told Ten'ichirou--actually it was Kei...who apparently he'd let suck on his neck because she was his "type" (WHICH REMINDS ME. Much earlier in the show, Junsuke tries to convince Ten'ichirou to go on a group date and offers to gather some girls for the two of them, and asks what Ten'ichirou's type is. When Ten-chan clams up, Junsuke starts listing off a few: "What, maybe you're into schoolgirls? Or nurses? What about hairdressers? Oh wait--that's my type!" <--I am wondering so hard if this is adlibbed or not, because umm Tuti's childhood home doubled as a beauty parlor run by his mom and he was considering being a hairdresser if acting hadn't worked out XD;;;)

Everything comes to a head, though, when the Tsukijima siblings track down Junsuke to his and Ten'ichirou's apartment at juuuuust the same time when Ten-chan's boss and another cop have come to arrest them for murder. Everything comes out into the open, and Kei admits that she doesn't want to keep living this way, apologizing to her brother and confessing that she just wants to die. Strangely enough, Junsuke feels the same way; while he never ever shows it in his demeanor, being an annoying snarky but highly amusing smart-ass the whole play, he doesn't intend to continue living like this the rest of his life, dragging Ten'ichirou into all the madness that would be his life (even though Ten-chan was on board SO HARD with helping out Junsuke >_> There was definitely some possible one-sided feeling there, because he got really REALLY touchy-feely with Junsuke and it was really kind of sad, since Junsuke had--in a moment of seriousness--begged Ten'ichirou to be the one to drive a stake through his heart ;~~~~;) They decide to drink each other's blood until all that is left is dust--but are stopped by...well, everyone else XD;

Then we find out that the one who made the Tsukijima siblings into vampires was the Vampire King, and Junsuke reasons that if they put all their efforts together--journalist sources, police know-how, experience--then they can track down this Vampire King and take him down...and if they do so, supposedly this will break the vampire "curse" and return all of them to normal. They eventually decide it merits a try, and put their hands together to signal their devotion to this end...

THE END.

YES. I KNOW.

"WHAT?!" IT JUST ENDS RIGHT THERE. Like, it's like the scriptwriter was going to make it all tidy and end it with this really angsty ending of Junsuke and Kei committing vampire suicide together while the people who love them more than anything--Ten-chan and Satoru, respectively--look on in horror and sadness....and then decided, "Know what? I don't want a sad ending! I want a HAPPY ONE! But--oh crap D: I only have 5 minutes to put it in! WELL WE'LL JUST LET THE AUDIENCE FILL IN THE REST IN THEIR MINDS!"

I feel like I just went to see The Fellowship of the Ring and didn't realize it was a trilogy D: I mean...afaik there ISN'T any kind of sequel to this scheduled or anything, BUT HOW CAN IT JUST END LIKE THAT?! It doesn't make SENSE D:

So, it was a REALLY good show--I mean, Nagayan was on fire. I feel like somehow I've forgotten that he's an amazingly good actor, and this just reminded me by shoving my face in it! I think he's at his best when he's happy and having fun rather than yelling himself hoarse, so this was so right up my alley in that respect :D I already bought a ticket to go see it again tomorrow XD Mostly because--and god I felt so bad--toujitsuken were sold out today and poor [livejournal.com profile] faded_lace who came all the way to the theater with me was turned away ;___; BUT WE'RE SEEING IT TOMORROW! And hopefully sitting together XD and then maybe I will have someone to ship Ten-chan/Junsuke with because THEIR LOVE IS SO GLARINGLY OBVIOUS

After the show was the miokuri/handshake with Nagayan, Souta, Shindou Gaku, and Oikawa who played Souta's boss. All went well til I got halfway down the stairs back to street level, and got wailaid by Aoki-san, who played the other cop in the finale and who I realized also was in Shinsengumi. I told him the generic otsukare-sama deshita and he kind of got all big-eyed and then started talking to me wtf wtf wtf (it was just down the stairs, so we weren't in anyone's way) and asking me how long I'd been in Japan and whatnot, so I said three years and then he was all sweet and, "omg you're that good in that amount of time?!" and I was all "8DDDDDD OH PSHAAAW" because apparently I lose control of my faculties of speech when needlessly complimented. Luckily, some higher brain function registered that I should gtfo before I made a fool of myself and so I told him I'd be back again (not creepy at all amirite?) and continued down the stairs.

And then I realized there was ANOTHER actor down there waiting to waylay people leaving as well, and unfortunately that's about when my foot was all, "lololol shouldn't have worn heels! HELLO STAIR!" and I took one graceful stumble and then another MUCH LESS GRACEFUL one and then finally the MOTHER OF ALL GRACELESS TRIPS DOWN THE STAIRS, which of course sent all the hot actors at the bottom scrambling to help 8D;;;;;;

Body: a-ok!
Pride: "Oh we're sorry, but unfortunately it appears your pride has sustained considerable damage, ma'am. Did you by chance have any pride insurance? No? That's a pity--it's definitely irreparable."
Me: *slinks away into the night to lick wounds*

IN OTHER NEWS. I picked up my Western Mode tickets for opening night and the day after in Tokyo, and managed to snatch up two very nice ones--just off to the side of center in row H for opening night, and a bit off to the right in row B for the next night! I could definitely have worse seats! (and considering that [livejournal.com profile] daiki_dansu somehow got us FRONT ROW TICKETS for senshuuraku in Nagoya? I think I'm gonna take it easy on the ticket-getting this time around XD)

However, while at the Family Port machine printing out my receipts to get my tickets, I spied a little something just by the screen...

HAAAAAY I BOUGHT TICKETS FOR THOSE DUDES 8DDDDD

Look for another fun report tomorrow night~!

...lol @ my mood text :D

Sounds like a fun play! I agree, happy!Nagayan is the best ♥ And gah, Shindou Gaku~ He is so good at playing creepy characters. Probably because even when he's not in character he still comes off as a little creepy. Yet awesome. And yes his voice is quite nice :D

I miss seeing plays :(

I have to say, I SO was not expecting this play to involve happy!Nagayan. Or for him to NOT go crazy. Go figure. *_*

That does sound like a rather random ending though, wtf. O_o I wonder if maybe...hrm... I mean, it could be based off of something? Someone should ask Nagayan. ^_~

...You know, pride insurance would sell really, really well I think. Especially for foreigners in Japan. ^^;

I'm glad you're going again! :D

(And oooooh, were there photosets? 8D)

He was so hilarious and adorable and smart-ass and sdlfiushldfs XDDDD He LOOKED really good too >_> His hair was styled this way (http://ameblo.jp/nagayama-takashi/image-10635422545-10723608954.html) as I'm sure you saw, but even though I was really worried about it looking bad, it looked REALLY good in person. The styling actually wasn't so drastic, and the coloring looked really good on stage and sdfiuhsldfs he was just really really HOT 8D But I'm sure you understand that XD

One of my favorite parts was where in the opening scene of the show, he walks down the stairs in the audience to the stage on his way "home", grabs a random girl in the audience, and takes her on stage with him, then proceeds to hit on her and offer her drinks and snacks, at which point Souta's Ten-chan comes home and bitches at him for bringing a girl home, didn't they agree he wouldn't, blahblahblah and Nagayan's all, "Awwww c'mon it's fine she's cuuuute~" and "did I say I wouldn't bring girls home? That doesn't sound like me..." and sidufhlsd it is SO ADORABLE XD And it really is just some random girl from the audience, so umm, LUCKIEST GIRL EVER MUCH???

(There were! I got us both a set andd a pamphlet ;D)
