Weekend and Boys in Suits
20 August 2010 10:47 amYAY! It's the weekend...almost! I plan on using my free time this weekend NOT to do work but to instead write more responses to prompts on the fabulous drabble challenge going on a few posts below (check it out if you haven't lately, there's quite a bit going on!).
In other news, I went to see abc - Akasaka Boys Cabaret last night in the always wonderful Akasaka ACT Theater. Okay, so I've only been there ONCE, and never inside the hall itself (went to pick up photosets/pamphlets for KuroMyu2 XD), but it was nice! I was quite near the back and a little off to the side (and considering that the tickets cost 8000 yen base price, this was quite a disappointment :/), but I never leave home without my handy dandy binoculars for theatre-going, so it was all good XD
The show itself was a lot of fun, though! Plot summary: Aiba's character is a newbie at a play production company who's trying to drum up auditioners for a new show, but at the last minute the sponser pulls out, so they have to cancel the audition. While they're able to get in touch with all the agency-bound actors, the freelance guys who don't answer their cellphones wind up showing up for the audition anyways (~20 of them). Since they're all there anyways and really want to be on stage, they decide WHAT THE HELL why not put on a show themselves? So they find a new sponser and do just that! So the whole show is mostly about what drew each of the guys to the stage, their hard work to put the show together, and dealing with opening-night slipups and whatnot. It was a really fun, funny show, and while really expensive, comparatively, I think it was pretty worth it XD
I mostly went for Shouta, of course, who was adorable as part of a two-man comedy unit that wasn't really all that funny XD But other awesome guys were: the 3-man dance unit of double!Gakuto+Zaizen (Ruito + Seiji + Bishin) who rocked the FUCK out of their dance scenes (and the director of this show must have liked that, because they danced a LOT just the three of them XD gooooood but Ruito's somehow still so adorable and hot and sexy and an amazing dancer and acrobatic and and and *explodes*), hospitalized!Kuma (who kept wandering on stage with an IV strapped to his arm), hippie!Osamu-chan (because, like, we are all, like, one with the uuuuuuniveeeerse man), among others.
One of the best parts of the show, though, took place before it had even technically started XD While everyone was still filing in (from ~20 min before the show started), the guys were WANDERING AROUND IN THE AUDIENCE in little groups of 2 or 3, just randomly! Aiba wandered around with a pack of flyers advertising the audition in the show and handed them out to random people, and another main guy (I THINK it was Masuda Toshiki's character...) handed out packets of tissues like the guys you see on the street (as that's what his character did). Other guys just wandered around like they were looking for a building or something and were lost, and Kane-chan randomly just stomped down the stairs shouting "KONNICHIWA!" at random people XD;;; It was surreal, but hilarious.

Date: 2010-08-20 03:26 am (UTC)Glad to know the show was awesome!!! I was a bit turned off by the price of the tickets, but hey! Maybe if they do it again! I think they've done a different Akasaka Boy's Cabaret thing before, since I downloaded something called that, but I haven't watched it yet.
