Working towards the weekend~
28 March 2010 08:00 pmNot much of note this weekend, other than the much-anticipated (*snort*) KG show :D
Saturday, Meg and I headed off to Azabujuuban to see Kitty Guys' latest endeavor, their show Mezasanai Basho ("Unaimed-for Place"), which happened to have among its cast the luuuurvly Goumoto Naoya and Murakami Kouhei of BuriMyu fame :D
The show itself was incredibly hard to understand overall, but quite entertaining :D
The OP was a rock version of Ode to Joy (which sounds a lot like--and thus likely IS--this one by X Japan) and the guys all really kicked it with the dancing.
Of note were:
--Naoya's character was a seiyuu (the play took place at an anime event) whose character he was also dressed up as: a samurai in a formal kimono, complete with katana, wearing over it a sleeveless tux jacket with a tie, because the character's name was "Salary-nosuke" XD During the action scenes, though, when he used that katana.........helllooooooooo flashbacks to BuriMyu! XD It was pretty much EXACTLY like watching some weird AU version of BuriMyu
--Kope's character was ADORABLE, he was this little geeky otaku who was cosplaying the anime's main character, just like Gaku was, so they kept fighting with one another about who was the better cosplayer XD;;;;unfortunately, did NOT get to ask him how that translation of Tuti's letter went...
--There's one scene where Naoya's character sings this nonsense song, during which he removes a business card from his coat and gives it to a random audience member (because he's a salaryman XD). Meg and I? Were sitting on the front row in the very center :D The result:

Best brush with fame ever XD Thanks much, Naoyan~! You made a couple of foreigners quite happy :D
--Kuri got down and FOLDED HIMSELF INTO A SUITCASE, scaring the crap out of us when he randomly popped out in the middle of the show (especially because his character was really creepy XDDDDD) Even funnier was the story of how he and Gaku had to find the suitcase, because it involved having to ask the salespeople if they could try and fit Kuri into it XD;;;;;
Overall, though, it was an enjoyable show~ Looking forward to the next :D
After the show, we headed to Shibuya and feasted on Burger King, after which we raided Mandarake and relieved them of some TxN doujinshi, BuriMyu doujinshi (yes, BuriMyu XD), Gin/Hitsugaya doujinshi (Meg's spoils :P Not mine~ and she got them for obvious reasons XD), Harry/Draco doujinshi, and Ban/Ginji doujinshi (plus a lone Juubei/Kazuki one XD), along with some TeniMyu DVDs :D
Today was the release of the new t-shirts for the Mt. Rock Charinko-bu (Iwashita-san and Tenchou's bike club lovechild), and since they were a beautiful spring-appropriate pink and yellow, Meg and I had to have one :D Unfortunately, she had to head back to Shiga yesterday, so it was up to me to procure our stocks!
There were only 20 for sale this time around, so I needed to be early in line to ensure I got the right size and color, so I headed out of my house around 10:15, arrived in front of Gain (the first!!) at just before 11, and..............waited for an hour in 40-degree weather (Fahrenheit >_> probably 4-5 Celsius) with biting Spring winds blowing and NO ONE SHOWED UP. AT ALL. I waited there alone for an hour, freezing, FOR NOTHING XD;;;
When Tenchou came down about 11:45, he was surprised to see someone waiting and asked how long I'd been there, then felt horrible I'd been there an hour, and I felt stupid for thinking there'd be a rush on the stupid bike club shirts, dammit :P In the end, I had absolutely no trouble getting us both shirts and even got to chat with Tenchou (and salesman-for-a-day Iwashita-san, too, who apparently remembered--because he brought it up--our lovely drunken romp in the ocean at the BBQ last summer errrrmmm 8D;;;;) about KG some. Fun times XD
I spent the rest of the day trying to get feeling back in my fingers and shipping off items people had ordered through G_M :)
Tickets for our T2 shows next weekend came! B-5/6 (2nd row, on the aisle *___*) for Shouta/Hirayama's day and D-11/12 (4th row center) for Tsuji/Mako-chan's! Not bad~ :D
I've secured two tickets to Yokohama DL7th shows so far (ticket.co.jp purchases, and in the stands, but decent seats for decent prices) and am eying the auctions at the moment >_> I want at least one GOOD seat--arena, front to middle--just because I want to experience that and it'll probably be my last time to really WANT IT this badly. I also want to be IN the hall for senshuuraku and not just watching it on the inevitable live viewing they'll have--if it's the end for Tuti and Nagayan and Tsuji and Shouta and all these amazing boys? I want to be there to see it in person, even if I'm at the back *firm*
On a semi-related note....Beri might not appreciate my spilling this, but our chat sessions brought up this idea of what the next *pnish* show should be, and somehow it's evolved into actually written "chapters" of what's amounted to a complete AU fic (because we were drafting it in the sense that it would be something performed by the guys, so it should just be something they could portray, not necessarily that close to their own personalities) and...I despise AU fic for the most part but goddammit I like writing this thing XD Let's just say the "cast list" includes Besshi, Gaku, and Nagayan at the very least :D
I dunno if/when we'll share it :P It's just too depressing to think it'll never be performed XD Even though it'd be kickass. And I could totally see the things that'd be changed and all to make it "work" for stage. Except it'd require special effects that'd probably be lost if performed live, bah :P The apt name? :P Top Secret Mode

Date: 2010-03-28 11:15 am (UTC)And the KG event sounds awesome, what are the chances of a DVD release? I still have the pamphlet from Burimyu for this event stuck to my cupboard~

Date: 2010-03-28 11:19 am (UTC)I'm wondering about a DVD myself -- they previously haven't really been able to do so because they like to use copyrighted songs in their shows, which would probably sap them with royalties, but this time they were really light on it, so... *crosses fingers*
There *was* a pamphlet though, which I bought, and will probably scan and post to
re: the burimyu doujinshi, it's actually by a Tuti/Nagayan doujinka, who's done burimyu doujinshi before--it just...never really hit me that it was BURIMYU DOUJINSHI, despite it including, well, all the BuriMyu cast and taking place during BuriMyu rather than, say, TeniMyu :P It's mostly short little 4-koma gag stuff with a slight TxN slant :D

Date: 2010-03-28 11:28 am (UTC)One of the friends I went to Burimyu with is going back for Tenimyu, she's a bigger Tenimyu fan than she is Burimyu. She sent me the text about Eiki as soon as she heard, she didn't even translate it so it took me a good long minute to figure out what her "big news" was |D
(Naoya wields a sword for a second in SOUGA, and even that gave me Burimyu flashbacks! He looks too good with a sword~~)
I hope so, I would really love to see it!
Ooh I'm glad, I saw glimpses of the photosets and they looked fiine. As always, thank you for the hard work!
Aah really? Sounds awesome! Mandrake must be the one place I forgot to hit while I was in Tokyo! Haha!
