fencer_xFirst -- the T2 event report is up on my report blog :D Go check it out! In other news, how about some notes on the opening day stage greetings for Nagayan's first starring role movie, Gachinko Shissou Joutou?
I suppose it should've been fair warning when, on stopping in at Gain and asking Tenchou if he was going to go see the movie, I was returned a nervous laugh and, ".........................I'll borrow the DVD from Takashi later :D" <--OUCH. COLD.
Meg and I got all gussied up for the premiere and made our way to the Human Trust Cinema, which is just around the corner from Gain, actually, and up to the top floor where I was pleased to see a bunch of girls from the FC, who all were happy to chat with me. One of them, Kiku-chan, you all might actually be familiar with and not even know it: she's the one who draws the fanart of Nagayan that he posts to his blog XD (Pasupata here, and Toshi [his movie character] here :D) I was also happy to run into Kaoru-san (TxN fan I hung out with in Korea) and Nanase-san (my roomie in Korea) :D Yaaaaay NagaJo buuuuddies~
I was seated quite near the front, apparently, and smack in the middle. Great for butai aisatsu, of course XD Unfortunately...it came with a price.
I had to sit next to an honest-to-god pervert. Creepy old man (50+) with a sweat problem and stinking of cigarettes (Tuti in 20 years!) who was apparently in a one-sided relationship with the female protagonist of the movie. During the butai aisatsu, he showed his love...by waving her idol DVD and photobook in the air not 10 feet in front of her (she was standing right next to Nagayan, so I had some awkward funtiems yaaaaay :P
Aside from that, though, the greetings were quite uneventful, though I was happy to see Nagayan being himself, the adorable attention whore, despite the constantly flashing cameras going on around him (which were unsettling, as I've never been to an event like that before o_O). The little talking that did get done mostly revolved around generalities, though Nagayan mentioned he did most of his own stunts for the show.
The show itself, though.................
We'll just say Tenchou had a good idea :P
I'd thought it was going to be something focused on street racing, maybe a little Fast and the Furious-inspired, etc., but...boy was I wrong XD;;; The entire thing was about this run-down, pretty much lawless high school "ruled" by two major gangs and one minor one. The two major gangs--the Mochidzuki gang and Ryuuichi gang--both want the four members of the third--run by Nagayan aka Toshi--to come and join up with them so they can push out the other, but Nagayan's guys refuse. Nagayan himself is pretty goofy (pretty much just Nagayan himself XD) and is more focused on becoming a race car driver and competing professionally (he was only made leader of their little gang because he won at janken). In short, he doesn't want to get any more involved, because he doesn't want to get hurt and potentially be unable to compete.
Long story short, his friends join up, get their asses kicked, he gets an injection of badassery and comes back to save them, throwing away his dream of becoming a professional driver and choosing instead to be...the head of his good-for-nothing high school's biggest gang :P
YEAH THAT SOUNDS LIKE A SOUND CAREER MOVE. Good god :P That just--IT DOESN'T EVEN MAKE SENSE. Throwing away his dream to be the gang leader (while still having his own personality, mind you) for a few months? I just. I don't. I. D:
It was a fun movie for the first 20 min or so, though XD; Then it devolved into just fight scene after fight scene, ugh :P Nagayan was amazing, though, for what it was worth! His character was very likeable (mostly because it was just HIM through and through), and the comedic scenes were pulled off very well--from the main female protagonist's friend's crush on Nagayan's Toshi to....his gay next door neighbor's unabashed flirting, involving smooches on the cheek and crotch grabs and attempts to pull off the road into every love hotel he could find during one scene where they went for a drive together :DDDDDD
Overall...I'm glad I saw it, but wouldn't watch it again, probably, except to screencap for icons 8DDDDD
I leave you now with this note: as we all know, Nagayan has been filling his days with Yuzawa-san, Kimeru, and twin-lens reflex camera photoshoot sessions, which he seems to be into at the moment.
Apparently the following was tweeted on the Burai no Nyoubo twitter account (the play Tuti is going to be doing in the next couple of weeks): "A while back, during an interview, Tsuchiya muttered, 'I want one...' after seeing one of the interviewer's twin-lens reflex cameras."
.......XDDDDDD Wanting to get in on the fun, much?

It'd be awesome if I could drool over it during my Spring Break! 8D;Hmmm, well, it doesn't sound like young people should really be using the morals(?) in that movie in real life. Giving up your dream to lead a gang? Ummm... :X
Still, probably interesting to see Nagayan as a badass gang leader, right? XD <3
