TeniMyu first!

1) Tsuji and Shouta have the best Golden Pair combination of all the casts, period. Yes, even better than Tuti and Nagayan, I've come to accept u.u They're both amazing as their individual characters, but I don't feel like I've really done enough "research" to say they're the absolute best at their characters (though I personally find no fault really, though Tsuji's voice is sometimes a bit too high for Oishi, to me :P). But as far as combinations go, they're just the best of the best. And if you don't think that being a good pair is important to being a good Golden Pair, to being a good Eiji and Oishi as individuals, you don't know what the hell you're talking about--so much of those characters is tied into who they are to each other, to not nail that aspect outright is just failing as a whole.

2) Dream Lives were better with fewer cast members. Though I say this, of course, and I know I'm just going to fangasm at DL7th which will have 2938492342 guys up there, but still :/ I'd be just as happy if it were 5th cast and maybe Rikkai and a couple of reps from the representative teams (maybe like Nationals 2) I really liked the intimacy of DL1st, mostly because Seigaku's my favorite team. It's just too big now :/

3) Fandom are a bunch of greedy, ungrateful people :P I don't ask for much, but I really wish more people were interacting in fandom. More meta, art, fic, icons, people actually going to see the musicals. I know it's stupid, since most people can't get the money togeter or have school, etc., but just...I feel like if I and the few other people who rip and upload didn't do just that, fandom would die. We were so full of drama in years past, but at least people were PARTICIPATING. It's hard getting excited about stuff alone, and while I love scanning and sharing things like photosets and writing up these long, detailed reports, it really is depressing when all I get is "ooh thanks taking" in return. Fuck that :P

1) I agree! :D Tuti and Nagayan were amazingly good in their roles, but Tsuji and Shouta's combination just blows me out of the water. XD; I think I get more of the original character feeling from their pair than from any of the other casts of Tenimyu. :3

2) I remember being disappointed that the later DLs didn't focus on Seigaku nearly as much... but then, I didn't much care for many of the later casts so I made myself feel better by thinking that the only good cast got a Seigaku-only DL. XD;

3) Here's something I'd love your input in, actually! I'm serious when I say that I'd like to start writing essays or commentaries about the actors or characterizations in Tenimyu, but I'm really not sure how I should go about it. There are too many options and ways to analyse things. Should I write one essay analysing each character throughout their various Tenimyu incarnations or maybe a cast-by-cast review... or maybe even an analysis on each doubles combination or... I dunno. D: There are too many options. What sort of essay/opinion piece would you be the most interested in? Do you think the community in general would be interested in this sort of meta?

3) Eeee I hope you do this XD I actually was trying to write up an essay on all of the GP pairs so far to post to golden_pair to try and drum up interest among them for the boys, but no one wanted to help me on 2nd, 3rd, or 4th's essays XD I GUESS NO ONE LOVES THEM :P I wrote some stuff for first and fifth so...I dunno, maybe I'll post that some day 8D

I think you should start off doing whatever you really want *____* I mean, then you're guaranteed to enjoy it and get into the swing of things! I love writing up informative posts like that, even if it's long and time-consuming.

Do I think the community in general would be interested? .....Probably not XD; But I know a few people definitely would be, depending on your topic :3 I'd love anything focusing on first or fifth cast of course, or maybe TeniMyu's development into a franchise over time, the increasing popularity, changes from source material, etc.? Thrill me!!

I would like to read what you've written about 1st and 5th cast! :D Any comparisons between the two? (I could site you as a source in my essay! XD;)

I think I'll write some character analyses based on each actor's performance of their character, maybe? I seem to focus on the comparisons when I talk about the various actors anyway. "So-and-so really got the emotion of that scene right, but in that other myu, so-and-so just wasn't connecting with his doubles partner." etc...

And I guess I'll just post them to my personal journal for now, since I think your right when you say that lots of people in the community wouldn't really care that much. XD; I'll make it my Spring Break homework to finish at least one essay of this type in a week. :O

1) Matsushita is so not my ideal Sebastian XD His voice is beautiful, but too high for my liking; I wish they had switched out him instead of Shougo for the next musical :/ Which I probably won't go see, because the first just wasn't really good enough to keep me interested despite the production value. I would've preferred it be based more on the anime than an original storyline.

2) *steals one of your replies* I loved the way the anime ended, ultimately. It was absolutely perfect, depressing, balls-y, and fitting. I can only hope that when the time comes, the manga ends in a similar way, as I really can't imagine anything more perfect (despite having a cadre of scenarios that the shipper in me would like to see, no matter how fanciful :P)

3) I dunno if this is unpopular or not, but...yeah, I'm really not looking forward to the new season/series :/ Just...I don't want to meet new main characters unless I get my old ones as well. They should've left well enough alone.

1) Awww, I wish you were going to go see the new musical. I hear it's chalk-full of Shinigamis, which I found fairly interesting. (Any chance they might be selling the theatre merch to people without tickets? If there was some way to tempt you into getting me some merchandise, I'd gladly do it. XD;) Though, I do definitely agree that Sebastian's voice wasn't what I pictured for the character at all. However, he won me over with sheer vocal talent. XD; I'm a sucker for good singing.

3) I dunno. I'm of a very like opinion, so this doesn't sound too unpopular to me. XD; I was so annoyed when they announced a new season because, I mean, it was a rather final ending for the old one. And now we find out that they aren't even trying to plothole themselves into a new season with the same characters, instead we get a new master-demon set? No thanks. D:

1) Echizen used to be a character I liked okay, in the first few arcs of the series for instance; but seeing as he hasn't really lost since Tezuka and that one time to Sanada, he's just getting to unbeatable, and it's boring the shit out of me >_> Well, ShinTeniPuri bores the shit out of me anyways, but STILL.

2) TeniMyu > Anime >>>>>>>>>>>>> Manga :P I can't stand Konomi's style, though I sometimes find I really like...the way he lays out his panels, I guess? It's hard to describe XD But I really like the art style in the anime, and TeniMyu (especially the later ones) does nothing but GREAT JUSTICE to the source material. The boys all fit so well into their roles, even support cast and new teams and whatnot. It feels like a lot of people dismiss TeniMyu as sheer crack :/

3) Konomi should've quit while he was ahead. I liked his storytelling for the most part, but it was DONE. He needed to bite the bullet and either make ShinTeniPuri be a really NEW series, either focusing solely on the new Seigaku or even on the regulars after going their separate ways, or just END IT and start a new series altogether, something completely different. I would've gladly given something new a shot at least.

2) I totally agree. XD Tenimyu is hands-down my favorite part of the tenipuri franchise. (And quality definitely increases as time goes on XD;;; ) And it is kind of amazing how it does such justice to the source material--it's hard to think of many movie/musical/etc. adaptations of books or manga that just take the original story and make it more fun to watch, without feeling the need to rewrite the story, characters, etc.

3) I have to admit I haven't read any of Shin. I'm a bad fan >__>;

I come out of my usual lurking place (I'm a lurker, but you have to admit you love me anyways - everyone does, even if the only thing I do is lurk around, leave an occassional comment and sprout an occassional boring drabble anonymously xD I feel arrogant today!) to see what you can say to us about our lovely *pnish* fandom!
Because I enjoy reading unpopular opinions... used to be a little known in the j-rock fandom in my country for having those =3
