Nagayama Takashi. It feels like, since starting this new year, the days when I don't see him are few.
Oh. Oh Tuti.
And then Nagayan picspams us with guitar!Tuti and fffffffffark those fingers and that UNDONE TIE. "You've gotten even better!"
And those days will yet continue, thanks to the god that is Ueshima Yukio. I think it's fucking awesome of course--how can it not be?
Five years and lots of singing lessons later, you're going to have a really different cast than you left on the stage in Tokyo Metropolitan Art Space, that's for sure. One thing I have to think about is how hard is it going to be for them to get back into character? Can you imagine Tuti and Nagayan and Eiji and Tatsuya and all of them going back to their BuriMyu characters in 2015 after not touching them since senshuuraku? Tough sell!
And why don't I feel more annoyed, outraged even that 5th cast is yet again being denied their own full Dream Live? Arguably 1st cast's presence is going to blow away interest in them unless 1st cast is relegated to, well, the role 5th cast played to 4th cast's main act in DL6th. Which given what a huge thing it is that 1st cast is coming back, that's not going to happen. They'll (hopefully) share the stage for many songs, or at least trade off evenly.
I don't feel worried about any of the above things, though...because this is just the best thing ever. If you had asked me what my dream DL would be, I'd have said without a second thought: "First cast. Fifth cast. Some good rivals. Awesome songs. Period." And lo and behold look what kind of awesome shit Ueshima-sensei is prepping for us!
First cast made TeniMyu. Without them, we wouldn't have TeniMyu. They had their era, and then they passed on the baton and yet it was clear fans didn't really want to let them go, because they were the first. No matter what, they'll always be first, "old cast", the originals. Other casts may fade into obscurity, where at some point you're like, "Wait, which cast was it that did the Myu for the X arc?" but you're not going to forget what cast started it all. It couldn't be more perfect than to have them back to help close it down.
To have them standing there on stage facing the cast who's brought TeniMyu to such a stunning conclusion (really, there are no other words to describe what 5th cast has brought to this stage) and saying, "Good job, guys. You've made it everything we ever dreamed it could be," is just...perfect. I'm sure it'd be nice to have other casts there, but...even if I'd really fallen in love with another cast, I can't help but think it'd be 1) unwieldy with that many people, and 2) just...wrong. Give us our first and our last, give us our beginning and our end. Close it with the ones who opened it and be done with it.
The boys will work their asses off--all of them--and they will get back into that groove, if only for less than a week of shows. Nagayan's probably gearing up to sing himself hoarse at karaoke boxes between now and April to practice his songs, likely dragging any Seigaku member who's not busy along for the ride. Abe's been having lives left and right, and I really honestly can't wait to hear them break out their new-and-improved voices on some of these old songs, and new ones!
This just has all the chance in the world to be such an amazing show -- as it's something that's never been attempted before. Bringing back a full cast to double-cast with a current cast? The possibilities, god.
I can't express how fucking thrilled I am and so lucky, lucky to be here to hopefully witness this historic moment [/over-grandiose-ness :P]
Bring on the blog pics, the "Just had lunch with Nagayama-senpai!! Now we're off to TeniMyu rehearsals!" posts, the tooth-and-nail fights for good seats, the photosets, the pamphlets, the legs aching from standing for so long and just being so happy I want to cry. Thinking the closest I'd ever come to a first cast TeniMyu was my old DVD and hearing Nagayan or Tuti belt out the odd lyric at an event and now being able to actually see them singing, dancing, in full costume and makeup and god there are DVDs and backstage footage to look forward to gdi.
This day? This day gets a fucking TEN in my book ;~;

I'm so, so gutted I can't be there to see it because it's a bloody once in a lifetime experience but that's just how it is. Fortunately, as you said, there will be DVDs and backstage footage and all the blog entries and whatnot to look forward to.
