I'd mentioned previously that I really hoped Tuti would give us a real, meaningful post after the show ended, and then joked with
lavenderlily that I was more than happy that his "post show picture" where he thanked everyone for their support after the show was just Nagayan, as apparently 5 yrs of happy memories = Nagayan in Tuti's head.
However, I'm really really happy he didn't stop there ;_;
BLEACH
It's over.
It gave me the greatest memories.
Ichimaru Gin.
Facing this role took quite a bit of work,
The hardships surrounding the accent,
Confusion with his facial expressions
Worry his gestures
Doubt over how to show his gaze,
Getting worked up over his fascinating voice,
All that suffering over just how to walk as him.
And all those days where I was so scared of going out on that stage.
To tell the truth, over these past 5 years, there have been many moments where I seriously considered whether or not I really should be involved in anime musical performances, whether it was really necessary for me.
But...I'm glad I did. I'm glad I got to do it.
In this run, I feel like something broke out of me.
It was 27 performances I'd always wished for, filled with nothing but enjoyment.
I really felt like I squeezed out every bit of Gin from all of the performances thus far.
I feel like this time especially I was really trying to catch hold of the Gin-ness that was rising up, relying heavily on our mutual Do-S-ness.
But--with the birthday surprise and Catharsis surprises, there were a lot of points where things got turned on me.
And then, crowning the final uso contest, there was the reverse-uso turned on me by the full company, planned entirely by our producer Yotti.
It was amazing.
This reversal was only able to work because over these past 5 years, everyone has gotten so close to their characters, and this was the carefully crafted result brought about by a company that really relies on one another.
One day has passed, and now I feel like I can sleep really happily keeping that success in my heart.
Thank you for all your support.

This. This sums everything up about this cast so well &hearts
Going around to everyone's blogs today, I see all of these posts, and even with the little Japanese that I can read and understand, it still makes me cry. Five years is a long time for one cast, and I wish they wouldn't go.

Date: 2010-02-10 11:27 am (UTC)Omedeto Tuti-sama!!
Indeed, you DID grasp everything of Ichimauru-taichou's character, and you did not fail to convey it to the audience.
i'm very very sad to think you won't be playing that role again, but happy for you nonetheless!!!
And look froward to seeing you in your next role XD
これから頑張りますね!
*wipes tears and bravely scrolls up to read the entry again*
thanks fencer_x for the translation, mine had not been that accurate ^^

Date: 2010-02-11 10:32 pm (UTC)I do think Gin was the most difficult role in Bleach. We don't know a lot of Gin and his goal (even after 526473298 chapters of bleach).
Tuti really impressed me the first time I watched Rock Musical Bleach.
He totally caught all the details that make Gin, he worked hard on it and the result is awesome. I don't think it's possible to do better than what he did.
It's surprising when he says he was scared because on stage he is so confident and just perfect in his role.
I do hope he will do musicals again, I do want to hear his beautiful (ears piercing) voice. ^^
Thanks for the translation. I wish you a happy time on his "booze cruise" lol
