Looking back, did you write more fics than you thought you would this year, less than you thought, or about what you predicted?
Seeing as I was only just really getting back into the whole writing thing, I'd say yeah, I definitely wrote WAY more than I thought I would XD Since I'd already started on curryfic in 2008, I figured I'd at least be working on that for 2009, but of course I couldn't predict writing much else.

Where did you publish/archive your stories?
Chicklit (personal-run archive for Myu-related fics) and LJ, of course! [livejournal.com profile] tutixnagayan, [livejournal.com profile] pnish, and [livejournal.com profile] tenimyu_slash, specifically.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?
Hmm, Nataraja/Pasupata of course (though I'm not gonna lie and say I didn't think I'd be shipping Tuti's and Nagayan's characters if/when Nagayan performed in a *pnish* show XD;;;), and while I thought they made a great Golden Pair, I don't think I started really shipping T2 until they started hanging out 24/7 and doing events together, which all happened later in 2009 :D

What’s your favorite story this year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you the happiest.
Hmm, that's a tough one :/ That's When I Love You was the first one I wrote of the year, and my first time trying something so daunting and long. I normally don't really like songfic, but it wasn't really the same as normal songfic, so...I guess I liked that challenge. And then What Hurts the Most was my first time writing pre-relationship TeniMyu-verse fic, as far as I can tell, and...it felt like I'd crossed another barrier I hadn't attempted before. When it comes down to it, though, one of the ones that was the most pleasing to write and left me feeling really warm and fuzzy and happy was An Honest Man, as I wrote it in real time pretty much and it was just one of those topics none of us really like to think about, yet after getting it all done, I still really like it and want more people to have them talk about marriage (to each other, other people, whatever).

Okay, NOW your most popular story.
Curryfic by far, I think XD Because it was so long, partly, and because...I dunno why, really :P Maybe people who don't like AU (like me) were comforted by it being only semi-AU (everyone but Nagayan exactly the same)? It was fun to write, at least! So maybe that helped make it fun to read? ;D

Story most under appreciated by the universe?
Eeesh, this feels like whining about not getting comments on something :P Bah. FINE, Primary Colors 2: A New Grope, because you people don't seem to appreciate my pre-TeniMyu Eiji/Tuti/Daiki semi-threesome smut :P

Story that could have been better?
I dunno how to explain it, but to me, most of my stuff that I wrote around Maharaja Mode (such as Herd Mentality, And Wasshi Makes Five, and The Magic Number) all left me kind of...wanting. Maybe it was a little bit of disappointment that the show wasn't inspiring more people to get up and dance and dash off fanworks (which is stupid of me, because we DID get fanworks from certain lovely ladies), but for some reason I just don't really feel satisfied with them :/

Sexiest story?
8DDDDD umm, I dunno, but Bad Education was the first time I ever wrote full-on smut (even if it was still kinda glossed over, it felt like XD;) I don't know that it's necessarily the sexiest so much as the porniest, but...still.

Most fun story?
Not sure why, but my fics that require a ton of research are the ones I find more fun! Maybe because it leaves me with a bigger sense of accomplishment, like I really worked to make them believable and as true to reality as possible (on that same note, real-time fics leave me the same way :D)? So I'm gonna go with Passing Acquaintances for now, even though it's one I'm taking my sweet time with and not giving much attention XD

Story with single sweetest moment?
I liked #10 ("Stay") from 50 sentences:

The first time, he nearly missed the last train, and the second time, he did miss it and could only afford to take a taxi halfway home and had to walk the rest of the way; but the third time, Takashi just lay on top of him, unmoving and boneless and sticky with sweat, murmuring only, "Stay..."

For an overall story, though...I gotta say I'm particularly please with how Housewarming turned out, so much so that it made me want to write 20 Scenes of Domestic Bliss (mostly involving a pantsless Tuti) just so I could have more of that domestic vibe.

The story that made you cry?
o_O I dunno that I really got choked up, as I was the one writing it, but maybe Crossing Paths? I wrote it out of disappointment and subsequent happiness/confusion regarding the MahaMo photoshoot, so...

Hardest story to write?
Bad Education, definitely, as I just can't write smut, even though I can read it fine! I just feel so...weird, awkward, like it's not even believable (...possibly because it's not?) and I dunno, maybe all authors of smut scenes feel the same way :P Anyways, there you are.

Easiest story to write?
Are any ever really easy to write? XD; Well, Curryfic was easy in the sense that I knew where I wanted to go with it, so I had an "ending point" in mind, which is very important with chaptered fics, otherwise you'll end up writing forever until you just stumble upon an ending, which I would hate to do :P An Honest Man was also easy to write for me, but in the sense that just as I was writing it, I knew exactly what I had envisioned happening, and it came out really easily, which was pleasant :D

Most overdue story?
I don't think I ever had a deadline I didn't meet, but I started writing Knowledge is Power for a drabble meme many moons ago, and just got around to it recently. I knew what I wanted, just was struck by some writer's block at the time. Same for 50 sentences.

Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them?
PORN! I wrote more smut scenes than I've ever written before! :D I suppose this isn't any grand accomplishment other than the fact that I hadn't done it before and...I dunno, I don't FEEL like I did anything amazing, and it certainly hasn't made them any easier or more enjoyable to write (can't I just THINK of stuff and have it automatically transfer to the page, dammit??). But at least that's one less thing "I Never Write".

Do you have any fanfic goals for the New Year?
Finish Passing Acquaintances or at least dedicate more time to it, because I do have plans for it and all but it just...I guess it feels more like writing a biography than a fic! XD If that makes any sense. Less fun (not not fun, but not as seat-of-my-pants writing whatever the heck I want, as I'm trying to make it as realistic as possible), but leaves me with a greater sense of accomplishment.

Leitmotif of the year:
A whosawhatsa? XD Hmm...reoccurring theme throughout my stuff, huh... I don't think I really had anything, but I definitely was struck by the urge to write lots of real-time stuff--stuff happening right then in real life. Lots of times it backfired, leaving me disappointed (serves me right XD), but I still can't help it :P Any time fun stuff happens, I want to get out my thoughts regarding what's happening rather than waiting to see what happened and never receiving the full story.

Story with the single sexiest moment:
Hmm, I have trouble writing honest to goodness fun sexy stuff, so...of course the stuff that stands out to me is the messed up stuff XD So try as I might to find something sexy in the sense of good sexy, I opted for this from Primary Colors 2: A New Grope:

Tsuchiya's breath caught in his throat. "The fuck--?"

"Shh! Just...just shut up," Daiki hissed, already breathing hard and almost begging him, forehead resting against his shoulder and knees squeezing his sides like a jockey urging his mount forward. There was a slight shift, and Daiki raised his head, leaning forward to face him head-on. "Just shut up and...and kiss me--do it like Eiji kissed you..."
Do it and I'll forgive you, was what Tsuchiya heard.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Primary Colors 2: A New Grope, period :P Though dammit, their little short-lived threesome was fun to write, twisted as it was. But...only because it was so messed up and twisted. Don't think you're getting any normal-universe PCP or anything any time soon >_>

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
Crossing Paths, perhaps. I'd never written break-up fic before, and for that reason I'd never paused to contemplate why they wouldn't be together, what aspect of each other would just be too much for one or the other to handle, to the point that they'd want to break off whatever they had. I feel like I tend to write them as Tuti being the one with all the quirks and annoyances that Nagayan has to put up with, so turning the tables as I did in this fic made me realize that there can be a lot to Nagayan that there isn't to Tuti, that under certain circumstances would be too much to put up with.

Hardest story to write:
Okay, setting aside my issues with writing smut, then, I think I'd have to say The One Where They Come Out, my submission for the 6th anniversary fic contest on [livejournal.com profile] tutixnagayan, mostly because while I love challenges and fic memes and such, it rarely is an easy thing for me to accomplish, especially with so non-specific a theme as "anniversary" :P I didn't want to make it too cliche, but that in itself was part of the challenge. I like how it came out, though :D

Biggest surprise:
...That I only wrote 2 outright Eiji/Daiki stories this year! :OOOOO WTF?! I think that shall be another of my goals for the new year: pepper the fandom with more MarriedFic!

Story I haven't yet written, but intend to:
I'm guessing this is about storylines I have in the hopper that I want to write? Hmmm...I don't have any that I'm like, "Well I want to write something like this eventually...", though Passing Acquaintances was one I had wanted to write for a while and just decided to take the plunge and see where it went. I really love those semi-AUs, too, so I'd like to think of another storyline like that!

Word count totals!

Non-collaborative fic word count total: 202,181 words @____@ Holy CRAP. My longest was Curryfic, predictably, at almost 80,000 words XD; And taken together, my drabbles (from previous years, too) totaled almost 30,000 o_O

Collaborative fic word count total: ...None XD As I didn't collaborate with anyone! It's been ages since I collabed on a fic with someone, and it never went very far (waaaay back in my DBZ days! Fred might remember Parable of the Eagle :D)

Anyone else gonna do this??

XD; I'd do this meme, but I only wrote a total of like... 6 things and most of them were for this Christmas. 8B

But, for the record, I totally read and liked your Eiji/Tuti/Daiki smut. XD The circumstances of the fic just made me feel bad... for basically all involved.

Aww, haha I didn't mean no one liked it really...more that I was fishing for SOMETHING to answer that question with XD; But it was a not-happy story, so I am very not surprised few people read/enjoyed it ;)

Poor guys. ;_; But, well... it was still pretty darn sexy. XDD; Probably fewer people read it because of the unconventional-ness of the pairing.

Heck, I was only able to WRITE it because it took place before Nagayan even was in the picture and there was still (at least one-sided) Daiki+Eiji stuff. It'd take a lot of convincing for me to read that otherwise XD;

I am stealing this from you LOL but I'll probably make it for the last two years? Maybe? XD
