Wow, working by the Russian Embassy is FUN in Japan!!

...A guy just came by screaming at the top of his lungs through a bullhorn for the Russians to "GET THE HELL OUT OF JAPAN! GET THE HELL OUT OF JAPAN!!"

A key stumbling block in relations between Russia and Japan has been the contested ownership of the South Kuril Islands. The dispute, simmering for over 60 years, has kept the two countries from signing a formal peace treaty following World War II.

The countries have been involved in frequent disputes over Japanese vessels' poaching in Russia's Pacific waters. In late August 2007, a Japanese fisherman was shot dead near the Kuril Islands when Russian border guards opened fire at his boat after it refused to stop.

Hoooooray Russia! They're not so good at playing nice.

Honestly, I don't think that the embassy would notice a protest. The government ignores the ones that happen on its doorstep. XD As shown by all the ones I saw in Moscow but saw nothing done about.

Couldn't read that article, but man, look out for crazy bombers. o.O I had forgotten they never signed a peace treat. IIRC, the Kuril Islands might have oil, but other than that, they're worthless.
