Meme and SukiSho
23 June 2009 09:55 amList 10 of your favorite characters from different fandoms, and ask people to spot patterns in your choices, and if they're so inclined, to draw conclusions about you based on the patterns they've spotted.
This should be fun... XD
1) Prince of Tennis - Oshitari Yuushi
2) Kuroshitsuji - Sebastian Michaelis
3) D.N.Angel - Krad
4) Kyou Kara Maou - Wolfram
5) Loveless - Soubi (okay, I at the very least am now seeing a pattern with some of these guys...)
6) Heroes - Hiro
7) Harry Potter - Draco Malfoy
8) Hikaru no Go - Shindou Hikaru
9) Gankutsuou - Franz d'Epinay
10) *pnish* (STFU. IT'S A FANDOM) - Tsuchiya "Tuti" Yuuichi
I challenge anyone to find a common link in ALL of them, but I can definitely see a bunch of commonalities in some of them! XD
In other news, because I was feeling nostalgic the other night (I've been feeling that way a lot lately o_O) I went and rewatched SukiSho aka Suki na Mono wa Suki Dakara Shouganai. If you've seen this, you know how bad it is, and if you haven't, know that it may possibly be a worse yaoi anime series than Gravitation, as at least Gravitation had some women in it. You could, of course, argue that the ukes in SukiSho are just women with penises, though. And you'd pretty much be right. Eesh.
But for some reason, I wanted to rewatch it, because I dunno, I just wanted a sappy, really badly cliche love story with boys kissing, and I remembered it at least being remotely entertaining. And it was! Remotely entertaining, at least. And a badly cliche love story, with less boys kissing than I remembered, but nice all the same.
So, I dunno if it annoyed me before, but it definitely annoyed me now: Ran and Yoru just...leaving. And never getting to see each other again. THE POOR BASTARDS. Or do we even SEE Ran leaving? What if Yoru left him behind?! They were the couple getting the most action in the show and at least the most in LUST with each other, but it just seemed really really cold of Yoru to leave without even saying goodbye. "I was really in love with Ran, you know." <--LIAR. Then why did you just up and leave without a word?! They got to spend what probably amounted to all of a few weeks together, after something like 10 years apart, still loved each other that fiercely, and then...Yoru just leaves. WTF.
I realize I'm getting ticked off at a minor character in a cheesy BL anime, but. Still :/ That was one thing that grated on me the most.
AND ANOTHER THING. Nagase/Gaku (hehe you have no idea how I cracked up at Gaku/Manabu. I don't think I'd even heard of BuriMyu Gaku when watching this the first time, so...XD). I actually liked the potential here, and I shouldn't be complaining, since it was canon by the OVA.
BUT WTF HAPPENED WITH IT?! You go from it being a really one-sided thing, with Nagase having nothing more on his mind than using Gaku to get his plan accomplished to ONSEN SEX (...with Nagase in a speedo. what.) Do the writers of this show not understand the need for RELATIONSHIP DEVELOPMENT. Now, yes, I know. There was no TIME. The point of the OVA was to show everyone happy and in a relationship with their SO and really could've taken place any number of weeks or months after the previous episode. But but but, I WANT CLOSURE. Hell, the main couple didn't even get any action in the OVA (and the one time they DID do anything [...did they even HAVE sex in the series?] Sora wound up mind-fucked so...) even though it seemed every other couple was.
tl;dr - I wanted SukiSho to be a better series than it was :(

Date: 2009-06-23 05:26 am (UTC)I think it was just a good series to be dokidoki over when the characters were being cute.
I don't remember much about it anyway... only saw it once when it first came out... but I do want to buy it sometime, but I'm not willing to spend more than $20.
As for the meme... I think you really like the sexy type of character. Though I guess Hikaru would be considered 'cute' at first and maybe 'sexy' when he gets older.

Date: 2009-06-23 05:29 am (UTC)And I can see the "sexy man" pattern for Oshitari, Sebastian, Krad, and Soubi, but Wolf and Draco are just pissy blonds, Hikaru's a pissy blond-banged-guy, Franz is a non-pissy blond, and Tuti is...special.
*continues to ponder*

Date: 2009-06-23 12:37 pm (UTC)And yeeeeaaaah... It wasn't that great of a series, but fun for a laugh and a bit of shameless thrills. Nothing too graphic
(damnit), but still cute for a couple kisses.no subject
Date: 2009-06-23 02:13 pm (UTC)Of course at that time I was all blushy and 'OMG THEY'RE SO CUTE AND I LUV THIS ANIME'. It was new for me then so...xD I haven't rewatched it, but I do know now that I won't like it as much. But even then I wished it had just something... more :o
