I don't think I've ever been happier to see a weekend *___* So much I need to get caught up on!
Yesterday I was super busy at work, but even still that somehow didn't distract me from the fact that I was going to see KUROMYU. AGAIN. IN A FEW HOURS. And despite thinking the time would never come when I could speed out that door, it finally did!
I got to Sunshine City in plenty of time this time around, with about 45 min left til curtain before Paula, Rachel, and I dragged ourselves out of Starbucks and towards the theater. The lobby was a madhouse, as the doors hadn't opened yet, but I managed to secure myself another pamphlet (for Meg) and pre-ordered the DVD (UGH. DECEMBER 2. WHY SO FAR AWAY??). I really wanted a cellphone strap, as they looked beautiful, but they were sold out, so I settled for mentally ass-kicking myself for not getting one last weekend :(
We were on the 10th row this time, RIGHT ON THE FUCKING AISLE WHERE SHOUGO COMES DOWN IN HIS INTRO. Paula got to sit on the edge, the lucky bitch. But it was probably for the best; if I'd been there, I'm not sure I would've behaved myself when the hot pieces of boyflesh (like ooohhhhh Shougo, Ruito, whatshisface who played Finny, whatshisface who played Kai, etc.) passed by, so. Yeah. *___* Still was NICE sitting that close. I really can't wait for this DVD.
I think I'm gonna have to go ahead and lay out the blanket statement that all of the duets were AMAZING. Ciel's and Yuuki's particularly so, but I think I loved the Ciel and Sebastian duet best, just because. If Matsushita had only not drowned out poor Shougo so much, it would've been a lot better though 8D;;; But the boy has a BEAUTIFUL voice, so I can't complain too much. Also, Lau's song is like audio LSD. AWESOME XD Have I mentioned how I can't wait for the DVD?? Would that a CD were coming out...! Bah.
And since I've mentioned my favorite songs now, I guess I could add that my very very favorite part is the final scene, of Sebastian and Ciel singing their duet together, particularly the way Sebastian fondles Ciel 8D And of course that deep bow at the end...*shivers* Gives me chills! And then the cast bow with them coming down the stairs holding hands almost like this was sdliufhsdiufhsldifs YES. GAH. ilusm guys ;_;
After the show ended, everyone got up to leave, and then a voice over the speakers announced that the After Talk Event would start in 5 min. What.
..........XDDDDD So apparently we'd somehow FORGOTTEN that there would be an event after our show?! We knew nothing about it, but it turned out to be 5 seiyuu from the actual anime there to talk--Lau, Meirin, Finny, Bard, and Sebastian's seiyuus! THERE. IN FRONT OF US. TALKING AND BEING AMAZING IN THEIR VOICES XDDDD I've never really been one to go to seiyuu events and such, so it was my first time seeing seiyuu for a show I loved talking about said show, A VERY AWESOME EXPERIENCE.
They were asked a few questions, mostly about their experiences on the show, fun anecdotes and such, and their final question was one that had been posed to the stage actors in the pamphlet: if you could be any kind of butler, what kind would you be?
Lau: ご注文はこれでよろしかったのですか?執事 (a "was this what you ordered?" butler)
Meirin: ゲーム執事(game butler)
Finny: 庭執事(garden butler)
Bard: イカ執事 (squid butler...no, I don't know why either. BUT HE DREW A PICTURE OF THE CUTEST SQUID EVER SO IT'S OKAY.)
Sebastian: ロボ執事(...yes. A ROBOT BUTLER. Onosaka demonstrated what exactly that mean by--I shit you not--doing a little Mr. Roboto dance and then going in a monotone metallic voice, "Yes, My Lord." FUCK. AWESOMENESS IN A CAN XDDDDD)
It was a really short event, but GOD was it amusing and a perfect cap for the evening!
And now, switching tacks, let's discuss the newest chapters of ShinTeniPuri!
I meant to pick up a copy on my lunch break, but forgot, and was thrilled to find some of the scans available for online viewing. Thankfully it was the match I cared about! OISHI VS. EIJI. GAH.
I'll admit I was both worried and resigned at the same time. I worried about how it would be handled--would one get completely trounced? Would there be manly crying? Would there be flashbacks?--but felt resigned in the belief that this would finally be the match where Eiji proved he'd surpassed Oishi, something most had seen coming for a long time. It made me recall that vow of Eiji's from long before, when they first joined up as a doubles team, that he would play doubles with Oishi until the day he defeated him. And I just wasn't ready for that, but...
God, I had absolutely nothing to be worried about ;_;
If you've not seen it yet, it was a 7-point match--first to 7 wins. Just a way to narrow down the playing field by half quickly and efficiently. Eiji was winning by quite a large margin at first...and then made a number of errors that nearly allowed Oishi to overtake him. Oishi quickly realized what Eiji was trying to do and called him out on it.
Eiji: "It's just, if you lose--we won't be able to play doubles together anymore."
I'll play doubles with you until the day I defeat you.
Fuck. To think Eiji still remembered that promise from so long ago, and was now feeling pinned down by it. Didn't want to not be able to play with Oishi so bad he was willing to forfeit his own spot on the team--better to lose a game than to lose Oishi. This is what Oishi means to him: more than tennis, dammit. MORE THAN TENNIS.
Insert flashback panels (I TOLD YOU THEY WOULD BE THERE) of Eiji getting excited about the camp, exclaiming, "This means I'll get to play doubles with you one more time before we graduate!!"
In the Real World (and not the one of fluffy clouds and pink hearts they usually reside in around each other), Oishi responds harshly, as it's the only way to get through to Eiji at this point:
Oishi: "Stop messing around! I don't need your pity! There's no way I intend to lose to you when you're acting like that. What the hell do you think we are, Eiji?"
Eiji snaps back to normal,
Eiji: *That's right...* "Yoooosh! Come on, partner!"
The rest of the match plays as normal, and Eiji wins 7-4. Oishi turns to leave the court--and the camp--but Eiji calls out to him.
Eiji: "Oishi--your racket. Leave it here. I'm going to use that to become a U-17 representative!
Oishi: "...I'm counting on you, Eiji!"
Eiji: "'course!"
lsiduhfslihuflis ;__; GUUUYYYYYS! This is. Just. Too much. I love that even when Eiji's being childish, selfish, even when it's not obvious that he's being so (because generally, he's not!), Oishi doesn't take crap, and knows exactly when Eiji needs to be humored (well, usually knows XD since that was the reason behind their last fight--misunderstanding of grieving processes~) and when he needs to be bitchslapped despite the best of intentions.
And Eiji taking Oishi's racket is just sliduhflisfs didn't FUJI do that?? With Taka-san's?? This was less revenge though, and more of a way for Eiji to still take advantage of Oishi's strength, have a bit of him there on the court with him even during singles. laiuhdiasuda I can't wait for the fallout of this (THERE BETTER BE FALLOUT. They will have to address Eiji's finally winning against Oishi, preferably with some sort of small, intimate ceremony involving their closest friends and relations).
It's Friday, and it's been an awesome week ;_;

Date: 2009-06-05 02:25 am (UTC)It was incredibly well done, and completely what I imagined a situation like that being. I just hope that Oishi (and the others that have lost) are not gone for good. I mean, we need the Golden Pair talking out what it means for Eiji to have won. We need Oishi being by Eiji's side (in more than the form of a racket,) supporting him through his (hopefully) upcoming wins. And in general, I can't imagine reading the rest of the series if Eiji's by his lonesome the whole time. So, I'm really happy for what this showed of their relationship, but I'm worried for what it means to the rest of the new series. Or something like that.

Date: 2009-06-05 03:03 am (UTC)I'm in love Lau's song and the Grell/Sebastian fight. My fave part is when Grell ran by me and apologized for not stopping to me (I wore my red dress specifically to lure him in lol) and then Lau talking to me. I wasn't even paying attention when he stopped beside me. Oops. >.>

Date: 2009-06-05 03:45 am (UTC)I think I just died. Sebastian actually fondles Ciel in their duet?!?! (I had to re-read that repeatedly to make sure I wasn't seeing things.) A-and the holding hands while going down the stairs!! GUH. ♥ The fact that I was unable to get a ticket for this show when I was in Tokyo a week ago makes me burn in more agony with each passing day!! And what would I give to hear that robotic "Yes, my Lord"?
Thanks for sharing this report with us..It makes the looong wait for the DVD more bearable. TT0TT

Psst, Sebastian's seiyuu is Ono Daisuke, not Onosaka Masaya. X.D Fingers typing on their own, perhaps? Hehe.
And... That totally sounds like something OnoD would do, LoL. He's such a dork like that.
