Oishi: "Yeah."
Eiji: "But when we get back, then it's hitting the books for entrance exams."
Oishi: "About that...Eiji..."
Eiji: "Hm?"
Oishi: "I'm...not going to go to our high school."
Eiji: "Eh?!"
Oishi: "I plan on applying to an outside high school."
Eiji: "But--why?! You've never mentioned this before!"
Oishi: "I just wasn't sure. But--now I've decided. I want to become a doctor."
Eiji: "A doctor?"
Oishi: "With Tezuka's arm, and my own injury...I've learned how truly painful it is not to be able to play as you want. I want to help people like that....I'm sorry, just deciding it on my own without talking to you..."
Eiji: "...The studying's gonna be tough. Prepping for an entrance exam to an outside high school...I could never handle it!"
Oishi: "Eiji...!"
Eiji: "Hmm...maybe I'll try and become a stuntman then..."
Oishi: "Then if you do that...I'll be your personal trainer."

So, in essence, after HS Eiji is just forgoing higher education for stunt work because he can't see himself being a doctor aka following Oishi where he will be going, and therefore there is no reason to continue his education without Oishi? Interesting. And apparently in the end, because the boy can't imagine Eiji's care to anyone else, Oishi will forgo being an actual doctor to become Eiji's personal trainer (and healer)? God I love these two ;)

Thanks for the translation btw. I just watched this yesterday with the basic look of o.O because I hadn't a clue what they were saying, but knew it was something important. Have I said I love these two?

I think I saw it more as Eiji being bowled over by how deep Oishi thinks about this kind of stuff? And then, thinking about himself in that same sense ("If I could do a job that embodied skills I possess to make others happy, what would it be?"), ponders stunt work.

I do love how it closed with Oishi assuring Eiji--and himself--that even though this is important to Oishi, he still wants them to be together in any way possible ;__;

I did wonder if it was foregoing being an actual doctor, or if that would be his normal job and being Eiji's trainer would be his fun job? :D

Or maybe he plans on being a Physical Therapist? I can totally see that, and as often as Eiji would then be getting into scrapes and sticky situations (*coughcough*) it'd be perfect to keep them connected :D
