Today's Visual Boy entry: HOLY FUCK NAGAYAN HAS A BENIGN TUMOR WHAT.

So, I'm reading his latest VB entry, since it's Friday. He updates it once a week, and it's usually pretty interesting stuff, and quite long.

He opened this week mentioning an entry he made on the site a few weeks back at the beginning of April, where he spoke about how he wanted this Spring to be the Spring where he left nothing undone, where he finally did things he'd been putting off.

He then mentioned that he actually meant something specific: for quite some time now (3 years!), he'd been experiencing pain in the pinky-finger of his left hand. He'd tried to ignore it, assuming it would eventually go away, but it never did. He would put off hand massages, wince during handshakes and guard his finger with his ring finger instead, all the while hoping it would get better.

Finally, he decided he would have to do something about it, face facts that it wasn't disappearing, and go to the hospital to have it checked out. Once there, he explained his situation to the doctor, and the doctor said he suspected a glomus tumor, but that he'd run Nagayan through an MRI to make sure.

A few days later, the results came back, and the doctor confirmed that it was definitely a tumor. Nagayan related in the post that this really worried him--wouldn't it worry anyone?--but the doctor assured him it was relatively harmless, not cancerous or anything. They could even leave it alone and everything would be fine, but the pain would not go away unless he had an operation to remove it.

Nagayan closes the post with this: "An operation? He means surgery? Aren't you taking this a little too lightly?! He suggested it like he was just suggesting we go out for a drink or something! (:_;) Nagayama Takashi...a completely unexpected Spring of surgery! (but please don't worry) -- to be continued..."

TO BE CONTINUED?

WHAT. THE. FUCK?

Oh but I'm so damn glad that it's benign >_____< And by saying "Spring of surgery", it means he's going to do it, rite?

I can now totally imagine Tuti pacing up and down the waiting room while Nagayan is in the surgery room

Get well soon, Nagayan! You can do it! *sends positive energies across the sea*

Yeah, and I definitely understood his whole putting it off, hoping it'd get better, but wow--3 years? I hate doctors but if something was bothering me for that long, I'd get worried. I'm just glad he DID something about it.

It also reminded me of Tuti a while back, when he went in for surgery to get the cyst on his neck removed. Maybe Nagayan was thinking about this even then, worried about surgery, and tentatively asking questions like, "So it...didn't hurt or anything, did it? A cyst--that wasn't anything dangerous, right??" trying to convince himself to go get it checked out ;__;

I.... I was speechless for a moment there.

*blinks*

*takes a deep breath* Good heavens, he did really make us all worry >__>

I hope he would take the surgery and put an end to all of the pain and the worry *____*

WOW that was shocking and scary to hear 0_o
Thank goodness its benign *phew*

But I mean three years putting it off .... that was rather long time to endure the pain ^n^ though I'm one to talk I put ff going to the doctors about something about for 3 nearly 4 years myself >_<

aww I hope th surgery goes well !!!

really, lots of people have this kind of problem lately, I wonder why. Many friends of mine, and even my dog, and the operation was nothing important, really, apparently doctors do this a lot and they are pretty confident about it, so there will be no problem, I'm sure.
Maybe it's because of pollution?
The only things my friends worried about was the scar, but they take good care about scars in Japan, so nothing to worry about, I guess.
Anyway, I hope everything goes smooth for him ^^

PS: I'm back!

A friend of mine got something that sounds exactly like this removed from her foot just last week!

That is really scary that he is having constant pain because of this tumor, but the surgery won't be anything. Since it's his hand, they probably won't even need to knock him out, just freeze the hand.

O___O That's really, really scary! Just... that he waited so long to get it checked out? I swear, ever since my boss had her horrible... infectious disease scare, it just really, really made me think that everyone should always get everything (especially if it involves some kind of pain) checked out ASAP. >_< Because you just never know... If this had been something worse, you just never know how waiting a few weeks, or even days, etc., could make a difference. >_>

But wow, I'm just.... really glad it's harmless. ...But surgery... That's scary too... *worryworryworry* T___T

And okay, maybe I'm crazy, but I kinda feel like you can see it a little here (http://ameblo.jp/nagayama-takashi/image-10260355901-10180416939.html)? *_* Is it just me? It just looks kind of... reddish on the tip there... T__T

o___o I dunno if it's just me WANTING to see something because I know about it, but it definitely looks red to me ;_; Now I feel kinda bad thinking of all the handshakes and stuff he always does, to me and to all his fans at demachi or events and whatnot :/

I know, I was thinking the same thing... It really does look kind of red though... @__@ Of course now that I'm thinking about it, I feel like I see it all the time in a million pictures, so maybe it's totally my imagination, but... ;__;

I was thinking about those handshake events too, and trying to figure out why he'd be even using his left hand, but then... I remembered the whole two-handed handshake thing... and got really sad all over again. T___T I just really hope he gets it taken care of soon... And that he doesn't wait THREE YEARS ever again... XD;;;

lasuhfalifusa I just remembered this: at the show yesterday, for some reason I can't remember (I think it was on the heels of Eiki and Tatsuya making fun of Nagayan for being old, which they did. A lot XD), Nagayan casually mentioned going to the hospital recently, and quickly qualified that it was just for a checkup, since he was--as they said--getting old.

All I could do was sit there and frown and know that wasn't the reason he went at all ;___;

XDDD That's really funny that they were making fun of him for being old. XD;;; I was wondering when that would start happening, considering all the crap Eiji gets all the time, and... Well, Nagayan's pretty much right up there! ^_~

But mou... I don't know why that makes me sad too, that he said that, and then... Yeah... ;___;

I wonder if he intends to have the surgery done really soon or something, thus the "to be continued". That sucks though, poor guy.

OMG...he left it for 3 years?!...this is so typical in men...they experience pain but just hold it in and does nothing about it...must have something to do with testosterone cos females never do that...at least its benign so its no biggy...most people will develop a benign tumour in their life time...i had 1 on my head...now that was scary XSSS..

You realize that this makes two former Eijis knocked out this Spring (and we still don't know exactly what Adachi was in the hospital for)..? :'(
