"He doesn't like doing certain… things?" Gaku squeaks hesitantly. "But… but aren't you two…"
Takahsi smacks Gaku upside the head, harder than the last time.
"Owe!"
"Baka!" Takashi admonishes, just barely keeping himself from hitting the guy again. "I wasn't referring to those kind of things. Of course we do those kind of things. I was talking about what we are doing now."
Gaku's eyes widen again.
"B-but… w-we aren't d-doing a-anything," Gaku sputters and Takashi can't help but laugh at the reaction.
"Baka," Takashi says again with a little less venom than he used previously. "I was referring to shopping for groceries."
Gaku blinks a few times before blushing fiercely and throwing out another round of apologies.
"Gomen. Gomen. Gomen."
Again, he can't help laughing at Gaku for being easily flustered, especially coming from a guy who has no qualms about taking pictures of his little brother's ass and posting said picture to a public journal for all of Japan (if not the world) to see.
"But… you two… are committed… right? I mean, I always thought…"
"Yeah, well I know we are, and you know we are, and, well… it seems everyone knows we are except Tuti," Takashi explains. "I know he's not going anywhere, but I'm not so sure he knows, or more precisely believes, that I'm not going anywhere. He's a little slow on the uptake on that one."
Gaku still looks confused.
"So… what does that picture and grocery shopping have to do with Tuti's fear of commitment?"
Takashi sighs. "He just feels that if we are seen shopping for groceries or essentials together, that people will assume we are together."
"Um… but you are together," Gaku supplies the obvious, still looking confused.
"Yeah, but we aren't supposed to be," Takashi elaborates more. "Not that he's the reason we keep our relationship a secret, but we have to, ya know, for managements' sake and our careers' sake."
"But you two have shopped before…"
"Conbini shopping for a quick bite to each during rehearsals or on the way to a show isn't the same as going to the local market where there are families and couples doing their shopping too."
"So he's worried people might get the right idea about you two and then it wouldn't be a secret anymore?"
"Basically," Takashi admits. "It's silly really, but it's more than that too. I think he's more afraid of jinxing us, ya know? Like if he does this one thing he'll be admitting with finality that this is it, this is what he wants and it will suddenly disappear."
Gaku quietly digest what he's said before speaking again.
"So… he's worried about you two being seen shopping together for fear of being found out, but he sees no problem with you two collaborating together on items through the Gain store because that isn't going to give anyone the wrong idea?"
Takashi laughs. Perhaps Gaku is smarter than he gives the guy credit for. It doesn't make sense to Takashi either, but this is Tuti they are talking about and he is more than willing to be patient when in the end, it is completely worth it.
"What can I say," Takashi responds with a shrug, and a smile that is impossible to keep from blossoming on his face. "He's my Baka."
