A this rate, I'm gonna be worn out before NaNoWriMo even starts...

"Ooh, Daiki-chan, here here!"

Daiki found his attention immediately drawn to a few tables pressed together in one corner of the bar they'd rented out for their uchiage, and turning around to address his fellow members, he realized they'd all already been dragged off for conversation (or in Tsuchiya's case, forcibly inserted themselves into conversations). "Oi, over here, I said. Mou, Sano Daiki don't make me come over there."

A tall woman in a tight one-piece stood from her seat, a glass raised high in one hand and beckoning him closer with the other. Her dark hair was pulled tight into a bun atop her head, but many straggly strands had managed to worm their way out over the course of the evening, and while the light in the bar left room for mistakes, he was willing to bet that wasn't her first drink of the evening. "Thought you guys were never gonna get here," she whined, giggling, and patted the seat beside her, "Come on, sit."

"Hai hai..." he dutifully complied, sliding in next to her and fighting a gulp of anxiety when her two tablemates made themselves scarce to mingle with the rest of the uchiage crowd. "Sorry it took so long, you should know by now no amount of threatening will light any fires under Eiji."

"That boy. He spends more time getting ready than I do," she huffed, knocking back her drink and making eye contact with one of the staff members making rounds with fresh drinks, "You should be able to do something about it, Daiki-chan, I know you."

He flushed at the implication, ducking his head, "I'll--talk to him."

"I didn't mean talk to him," she griped, waving a hand over at their topic of conversation, who was deeply engrossed in his own chatting. "Make him sleep on the couch or--or I dunno, bite him the next time you're going down on--"

"Ahhahahaaa---aah, um, right, Mika-san. I will. Make sure he listens to me. I mean. Right."

"You're so cuuuute, Daiki-chan--" She reached forward and grabbed a chunk of cheek, then slapped him lightly, "Eiji's a lucky little bastard. If I weren't married--"

"How is your husband, Mika-san? And your twins?"

She waved him off, "Maa, same old same old. The twins are in second grade now, and I must've been up to the school three times this year already for parent-teacher conferences. Maybe I should drop them off with Eiji for a weekend and see if you can't teach them what's what."

"Eh?" Daiki nearly choked on the drink he'd snatched up when Mika-san's refill had come, "Ah--I dunno that that's such a good idea..."

"You're right," she nodded sagely, "He was just as bad at their age, it'd probably just make things worse." A sip from her drink. "You wanna watch them?"

"Ah--sorry, rehearsals. Can't."

"Figured, was worth a shot though."

Daiki cast a nervous glance over at his fellow members--Wasshi was listening to Besshi and Tecchan tell what was probably a really hilarious story the way Tecchan was giggling through it, Eiji was having an arm-wrestling match with Yotti, cheered on by his brother and Naru-san, and Tsuchiya was...distracted by Takashi, and would probably be leaving soon anyways.

"I'm not gonna bite, you know," Mika-san laughed, having caught sight of his cornered-animal face, and Daiki ducked his head in apology. "I never get to see you--or Eiji. You should come out and see us more often. I know Nagasaki's not exactly a hop, skip, and a jump from Tokyo, but--"

"I keep meaning to make time, it's been ages since I last visited, but..."

"With Papa off in Hong Kong now, seems like Eiji hardly has much reason to come and visit anymore. Kou-chan and I'd love to have you two over for the weekend some time--the twins would too, seeing as they only get to see their uncle around the new year these days."

A nod. "I hardly see my own nephew--"

"Ooh, you never mentioned a nephew, Daiki-chan!"

"I hardly ever talk to you!"

"Still--we could have, I dunno, playdates or something. Wait--don't tell me Sano-san is--"

"Nooo no no," Daiki corrected her, waving his hands when he saw her gaze shoot over to Mizuki, "Motoki-nii--he's married, still lives in Shizuoka, they have a son, but I hardly ever get to see him. I don't think Johnny's would even let Aniki there think about having a girlfriend."

They laughed for a moment at the thought, letting their giggles fill the air between them, before Mika-san spoke again, rolling her wine glass in her fingers, "You guys were great tonight, Daiki-chan, I'm really proud of you. Not just Eiji--all of you guys."

"Thanks," Daiki smiled shyly, biting his lip. "He was glad you could come, even if you all couldn't make it."

"Kou-chan hates the shinkansen, anyways. And he'll die before he steps foot on a plane, he's said. So I left him with the twins and came to see you guys."

"Well--" Daiki raised his glass, and Mika-san reached for her own, clinking them together, "It was our pleasure to entertain you."

She gave a polite nod, taking a drink, then glanced over beyond Daiki's shoulder, "Uh oh, he's spotted us."

"Eh?" Daiki started, then felt a hand squeeze his shoulder as Eiji plopped down next to him, bumping him to make him scoot over and reaching for his drink.

"Saw you got your ass kicked by a girl," Mika-san noted brightly, swirling her drink in her hand.

"Oww," Eiji complained, hand smarting where Daiki had just slapped it to protect his own drink. "Right, get my own. I know. And Yotti's not a girl. She's a--I dunno, one of those snowman things they have in India. What's it? A yeti."

"Better not let her hear you--she's doing our next gig, too," Daiki warned with a smile, enjoying the way Eiji paled sickly and cast a nervous glance back at the table behind him. "You're a horrible brother, by the way--Mika-san said you haven't been home in months."

"I've started telling the twins you're morbidly obese and can't leave your home," she added with an innocent smile.

"Oi oi, you're ruining my image!" Eiji groaned, slumping back against the bench and giving Daiki a small shove. "Tell her I've been busy."

"He's been busy," Daiki returned, as asked.

"Some Leader you are," Eiji snapped, rolling his eyes. "I'll come home, all right? Geez. Just--don't tell them I'm fat."

"Whether I tell them or not, they're gonna find out," she admitted, looking him up and down. "You've really let yourself go--you seriously sleep with this thing, Daiki-chan?" She gave a shudder for added effect, and it was more than enough to start Eiji up.

"I'm not fat, dammit. And don't bring him into this--he's damn lucky to have me--"

"Excuse me?"

"Wait--no, Daiki-chan, I didn't mean that---"

"Ooh," Mika-san tittered, clapping her hands together excitedly, "Ei-chan's not getting any toni~ght!"

"I mean--you think I'm hot, right?" Daiki crossed his arms, ignoring him. "Right? I'm hot aren't I? Sexy-chan, hey?" He turned an angry glare at his sister now, "Mou, neechan, now look what you did!"

"Don't blame this on me, mister, you started it--"

"But--Daiki-chan, I'm hot aren't I?" No response still, though Daiki was admittedly more doing it out of enjoying seeing Eiji get riled up than any annoyance he might've had at the man's statement earlier, "I--I'm at least hotter than Tsuchiya, right?"

"Oi, who's hotter than me?" came a yelled question from across the bar, and they all looked over just in time to see Tsuchiya dragged out the door by Takashi, and quickly returned to their conversation.

Mika-san shook her head in mirth. "Come on, Daiki-chan, give the guy a break."

Daiki dutifully cocked his head to the side, pasting on a look of intense concentration as he looked the man up and down, poking him in the stomach a few times to test its give. "Hmm, I guess you'll do for now."

"Daiki-chaaaaan..."

"All right, all right. You're pretty hot."

"Thank you."

"For your age."

"I--what?"

"Come on--let's get back to our party--" He pushed Eiji out of the corner, forcing him over into the aisle, then tossed back an apology to Mika-san, "He'll call you some time this week--how's the last weekend of August? I think we'll be free then."

"Haaai," she complied with a laugh, finishing off her drink once more. "The twins'll be thrilled 'Uncle Daiki-chan' is coming to visit--you're the only one who'll play Saint Seiya with them."

Awwww, poor Eiji, though no matter what, he will always be Sexy-chan to Daiki, no?

And you mentioning Naru-san... Dude, I totally have a crush on this guy like no ones business. Stems from seeing the 100 Song Marathon... I don't know why, but I do.

I really enjoyed the interaction between Daiki and Eiji's sister... though obviously I shouldn't read things first rolling out of bed because I got confused on who's sister she was at first *sigh* No one should have to wake up before 10am on a day off... no one.

I am sooooo looking forward to all your NaNoWriMo creations *nods*

Ask and you shall receive... Prompt: An overly exhausted Daiki and how Eiji ensures that Daiki takes care of himself; throw in a third party's observance too (your choice)!
