Eiji/Daiki fictime~

Got inspired by the weather today, and started writing. What began as a kind of typical funny, fluffy Eiji/Daiki fic kind of turned into something weird. I dunno if I like it or not, but it's definitely more...stream-of-conscious, feeling-y than what I usually do *shrugs* Guess there's a first time for everything!
"You know, now that you brought it inside you're never gonna be able to get rid of it," Eiji warned, eyeing the ball of fur curled up in Daiki's lap with some suspicion. "It's gonna start thinking this is its home and come over all the time."
Daiki just smiled at the lecture and rolled his eyes, idly stroking the cat behind its ears while it purred contentedly in his lap. "Gee, that sounds an awful lot like someone else I know..."
"Hey, don't go comparing me to that furball right there."
"Come on," Daiki wheedled. "You know that's all you are--one big, overgrown prissy kitty. Though--" He paused, thoughtful, and stopped his stroking. "You're right. Master does have more hair."
Eiji gave him a shove, but couldn't fight a soft chuckle. "That's low. I oughta toss the both of you out into that typhoon."
"It's my apartment, even if you do stay over often enough that I should start charging you rent. You can't throw me out of my own house." Daiki craned his neck around to stare at the window behind them, frowning. "I wonder when the power will come back on..."
"It's not so bad with it off," Eiji observed, sliding further down onto the bed until he sat propped up on one of the pillows littering the mattress, and patted the space next to him inviting Daiki to do the same. "Perfect nap weather, no rehearsals to rush off to, just the soothing sound of the rain on the roof..."
"That reminds me, I never did call Uchida-san to get that leak over the bed fixed..."
"Eh?!" Eiji looked up at the ceiling, suddenly nervous, then frowned when Daiki started laughing, realizing he'd been had.
"Geez, Eiji, I'm not even on the top floor. Use your head!" He gave the man a sound thwap to the temple for good measure, grin widening at Eiji's offended frown. "Come on, it was a good joke."
"Idiot, you didn't have me fooled."
"Oh no?"
"Nope." Eiji settled back down on the mattress, and realizing this meant that the conversation was over, Daiki laid down as well, letting the cat sit on his chest as it didn't seem intent on moving any time soon.
When the man reached over after a moment to scratch the animal's head, Daiki commented, pleased, "See? He likes you."
"Guess you and he have something in common now." Daiki stuck his tongue out, but didn't deny it. "You hungry or anything? We're obviously not going to get much work done without any light."
Daiki shook his head. "Not really, and it's storming too badly right now to make it worth going out for anything. The shops are all probably full up anyways. I might have some cup ramen or something, though, if you want to try lighting the stove with a match..."
Eiji laughed. "Maybe later. I like my eyebrows where they are." This elicited even more laughter from Daiki as the two fondly recalled their fellow member's adventures with fire in the past.
A moment passed after their giggles died down, and a comfortable silence slowly settled over the three occupants of the tiny room. The steady drum of heavy rain pelting the window pane drowned out Master's soft purring and Daiki's deep breaths as the man drifted in and out of consciousness, doing an excellent job of lulling anyone caught up in listening too intently towards sleep.
"Na..." A grumbled response was all he got, complete with a nuzzle to his shoulder, but Eiji knew this was just Daiki-speak for, "Yes, Darling, whatever is the matter?" He waited a moment, pausing to see if he could draw any further reaction from Daiki, but he seemed to have fallen back asleep. "Na," Eiji tried again, and there was no response this time. "...I love you."
The same grumbled question came again, "Hn?"
"I said," Eiji repeated evenly, "Are you going to sleep?"
Daiki frowned, brows furrowing over closed eyes as he twisted awkwardly on the mattress and pressed his face into Eiji's shoulder. "What? I dunno..."
"If you go to sleep now you'll be up all night, you know."
A pause, and in the darkness Daiki cracked one eye open, smiling deviously. His voice was scratchy with sleep, but still coy. "I dunno, that doesn't sound like such a bad thing..."
Eiji could not see the expression so much as hear it, and he sighed into a laugh, knowing all too well the game Daiki was playing. "Weeell when you put it like that..." He turned his head to the side and wiggled down the bed until he found himself face to face with Daiki. Master didn't seem to mind his perch's movements at all, and sat contentedly still on Daiki's chest, paws occasionally making muffins in Daiki's thin tanktop and making him wince. "I do seem to be stuck here for the evening, after all...wouldn't want to waste my time."
Eiji ducked his face in closer, sharing the same breath every few moments and getting lightheaded from the closeness. Daiki's expression wavered, almost shy now. Eiji knew the guy wasn't a seducer, and didn't fault him for it either, but it gave them both a kind of thrill to play the game. "Moriyama-san, I'm impressed..."
"You should be."
"I never would've thought you'd be so adamant--" He hissed, almost a moan, voice catching in his throat when Eiji reached over to play with the fly on his jeans. Master just stared at the hand, ears flattening in disapproval at the impending disturbance to his very comfortable position. "--so adamant...that we finish going over the budget for the next show..."
A laugh--they couldn't tell from which in the dark--and one or the other closed the last few centimeters between them. When their lips touched, it was like falling into a soft bed at the end of the long day, and neither felt any urgency to move, to deepen the kiss or end it, simply holding their breaths for a moment and relaxing into the sensation of a pair of rough lips against a pair of rougher lips, noses bumping and every breath completely filled with the scent of the other.
Master meowed from his post, then jumped onto the table and went to investigate the bowl of milk Daiki had set out when they'd first walked in.
They let the kiss deepen only when their lips and tongues grew too restless to enjoy the quiet solidarity any longer, instinctinvely sucking, biting, stroking at anything that came within range, pulling more than just sounds from one another. Eiji withdrew his hand from fiddling with Daiki's pants to brush away the bangs that tickled against his eyelids, smoothing the skin starting to wrinkle with lines of worry brought on by one too many mornings of Tsuchiya strolling in an hour late for a meeting or performances overlapping schedules with another in a double-booked theater. Daiki let his head fall away, content to give in completely to Eiji's ministrations just as Master had only moments before.
Eiji pressed impossibly closer, holding on to the body heat that hung between them. The typhoon would wash away the day's musty, muggy heat, leaving the city one step closer to autumn, and already there was a chill in the air that settled on the shoulders of anyone out past dusk. The thin walls of Daiki's apartment seemed so much more so given the loud roar of the storm raging outside. He blew a kiss onto Daiki's cheek, relishing the shudder that came in response.
He felt a little strange, a little lightheaded, and blamed the typhoon for his sudden urge to just kiss and kiss and kiss and never do anything else. Never go to rehearsals again, never answer another text message, never post another blog entry, never take another bow, just hold Daiki's face in his hands, push away that hair (again) and kiss. Eyes closed, or open, slow or feverish, tongues or no, it didn't matter.
When the rain subsided in the early hours the next morning, Eiji was sure he would feel...relieved, himself again. He would remember that rehearsals were usually really fun, that text messaging was quite useful for keeping up with old friends, and that if he stopped blogging he'd never hear the end of it from the fans. And of course, bowing was what actors did, and he was nothing else--usually--if not an actor. Even while he was sucking the life from his best friend's very willing lips, he was still Moriyama Eiji inside, and tomorrow he would remember that and be thankful he didn't choose to spend eternity in Daiki's bed in a darkened apartment while the wind howled outside and Master howled inside.
He felt a hand on his face, feeling for his lips and giving him pause, and made a noise in the back of his throat. In the light from a streetlamp that filtered through the window over Daiki's bed, he could make out the familiar features, searching his face. "...Can we just keep kissing for a while?"
Eiji swallowed audibly. 'I love you,' he thought, and pushed Daiki's hair back again. He hoped Master could occupy himself for a while.
"I love you, too," Daiki breathed before being swept away once more by the storm.
"You know, now that you brought it inside you're never gonna be able to get rid of it," Eiji warned, eyeing the ball of fur curled up in Daiki's lap with some suspicion. "It's gonna start thinking this is its home and come over all the time."

Date: 2008-09-20 04:13 pm (UTC)I really liked this, and I think you should too! There is something very beautiful about the moment - the kissing and how very much content Eiji would be to do nothing but that, and add the fact that Daiki completely understands... yeah, that is truely love in the purest sense.
