love you guys ;_;
18 June 2008 08:32 pmGeez Japanese chicks have the longest sticks up their asses o_O As seen on the *pnish* comm on mixi:
Fangirl #1: Hi, I've only just come into *pnish* fandom. I've got a question for everyone: If anyone has a copy of "The 59th Proposal," could I possible get a copy of it? I actually recorded it once, but at that time I didn't know anything about *pnish*, and so I recorded over it, and am now really regretting it. If someone wouldn't mind copying it, I'd be more than happy to pay shipping.
Fangirl #2: Well I understand how you feel, but that presents a problem of copyright legality, and if we were to do something like that then it might affect this community's being allowed to exist. Please check out this site: http://oshiete1.goo.ne.jp/qa2206428.html
(the site is some poor Japanese girl stuck in America wanting to know if it's okay to ask her family in Japan to record a television show for her and send it to her...which apparently that's a BIG BIG NO NO, even though it's just for her. What.)
This whole fandom, this whole country is full of people like that--stiff blowhards who don't know the world isn't black and white, that there are gray areas all around, and that yeah, rules are there to keep people in line, but they're supposed to be a framework you build off of and not bars caging you in.
The chick wanted a fricking copy of one episode that is nowhere available to be bought. How the hell is that hurting anyone?
I absolutely do not get the feeling that any fans here for anything feel close to other fans unless they're already friends. It's such a cold, sterile environment, and makes me wish sometimes I weren't a part of it.
I'd rather be friends with all you guys from behind a PC than friends in person with most of these chicks (I say most--because there are some people who are definitely all about, "SPREAD THE LOVE! SPREAD THE LOVE!" and they're the ones who are fun to fangirl with).

Date: 2008-06-18 12:06 pm (UTC)I have to admit that unfortunately German fandoms are just like that. Maybe a little bit less strict but very similar to that. That´s also the reason why I was so moved by TxN-fandom that I wrote that sappy easy back then in my early days in this fandom
as if it was that long ago >_>The fandoms I am in here on lj are very special to me because everyone is helpful, kind and honest and their motto is "sharing is caring". And they also think about the actors by telling the other fangirls to buy their stuff if possible. In other words: it´s the perfect fandom-universe. And it´s sad that not every fandom is like that.

Date: 2008-06-18 07:14 pm (UTC)I don't understand why they're so scared to share stuff. Do they really think some police is going to suddenly arrest them in the middle of the night for sharing a video aired on TV ?
They don't seem to understand that to tell the world "Hey, I'm being illegal right now, just so you know !" is really not necessary. It's called 'not saying' and 'private e-mails' :OOO
...yeah, I think we're all glad to be friends with people behind PCs ♥

Date: 2008-06-18 11:54 pm (UTC)I must say, though, that the Tuti/Nagayan/*pnish* fandoms seem to me to be particularly helpful and awesome to fellow fans.
