After too much listening to Suki da yo it hit me how much it sounded familiar...like another song Nagayan had sung before...

And then I went and listened to Haru no Omoidashi Omou and realized the two openings are off by only a few keys XD

I clipped the two sections and spliced them together: what do you think?

*sigh* is it time to go ROCK OUT TO REMIOROMEN IN KOBE yet?

...I was wondering where I'd heard that song before. XD

So I sat down with Jeremy this morning and we think we figured it out. :D Haru no Omoidashi Omou starts with an F# major chord at the beginning, and the melody he sings starts on the 3rd of that chord.

Suki da yo starts just a 1/2 step up, with a G major chord, and again, the melody starts on the 3rd. So... that's why it sounds so similar. XD I could have sworn they were more than just a 1/2 step apart, but... I really think that's all it is. Listen again and see if you agree? :D (And then there's that tiny difference at the end of the melody too, with the last note, but... The beginning melody is pretty much exactly the same. *_*) So yes... I'm almost 100% sure that's what it is. :D
