I'm surprised Livejournal didn't even make a blip on that radar o_O

I'd like to see how those statistics hold up for an older age group (say, the popular 18-35 year olds).

Well, they were looking at "social networking" sites, not blogging services.

...Plus this is all based on a study at one college? With only "over 1,000" participants? That seems a pretty small group to base real statistics on....

And it seems like they're kind of misunderstanding the point of Facebook....at my college, it seemed like people used it as a way to keep track of their friends and campus activities, etc., not as a way to meet new people.

I think they're misunderstanding a lot of things about facebook, considering you don't need a valid school e-mail to join, you just need a valid e-mail period.
Now to join school networks, you need a valid school e-mail, but not to join city networks.

The problem with that survey is that it`s a single college as the subject pool. If they actually broadened the subject pool a bit more, they might get a better idea of the scale of things...

my whole school (my guess is 60% asian 40% western) has gone out of the xanga age and moved onto myspace and facebook.. it's interesting how different it is to real life XD
