One word: binoculars.

Seriously. XD;; It made all the difference for me when stuck in bad seats, and is completely worth the ability to get a sudden close-up on whoever's on stage. Good binoculars are best, of course, but pennytook and I found some at a 100 yen store that weren't fantastic, but still gave us a better view of the stage than we would've had otherwise.
