I LOVE ME SOME SAITOU TAKUMI

fencer_xIn case you didn't know. He will probably be the man I have an affair with after marrying Gaku (because you know I won't be sleeping with THAT).
I'm finishing up watching episodes 4-6 of his "Private Journey" documentary that he filmed while he went on his trip along the Silk Road in China. It's really cool--he pretty much just wanders around China, climbing mountains and going to markets and temples and stuff, all the while keeping this vocal diary and stuff, definitely awesome.
But god some of the STUFF he does XD Like stalks EVERY LITTLE BOY HE SEES. Seriously, he'd always go up to these little kids, like, 8 or 9 years old, going, "Nihao nihao~" and reaching out to them. Or one time there was a little kid putting on skates, and Saitou walks up to him and holds him steady while he gets one skate on, and the kid totally shoves him away XD PEDOBEAR IS NOT WELCOME IN CHINA, MAN.
Then he'd wander around the marketplace in some towns, stupidly, WITHOUT HIS TRANSLATOR. Maybe he wanted to see how well he could get along playing the stupid foreigner card. It was hilarious really, because since he couldn't communicate in Japanese, and his Chinese was crap at best outside of "Hi" "Thank you" and "how much is this?" he kept using English (which btw his English is REALLY good actually o_O He barely has an accent at all, even if his grammar's not perfect) and they had even LESS of a clue what he was saying then XD
In the end he'd manage to relate what he wanted, but god then he started to HAGGLE XD And by "haggle" I mean the store person would type into a calculator how much they wanted for it, Saitou would smile, shake his head, and type in the price he wanted to pay XD
This worked especially well at one stall where the owner was a young girl in her 20s 8DDDDDD You can bet he got that little statue he wanted for aaassssssss cheap XD Hell I would've just asked for a kiss and called it even ♥
But oh the BEST part of the show came at the end of the last episode, when he had to stay in a youth hostel before going back. And of course the people who stay at youth hostels tend to be foreigners, right? So he ran into a couple Japanese college students, had a chat, and then...
He met FRAT BOYS. AMERICAN FRAT BOYS. Beer-chugging, manly back-slapping, pool-playing FRAT BOYS. Who called him "TaKOOmi" :DDDDDD It was SO weird seeing all these guys kind of gathering around him talking shit with him (and Saitou actually managed to keep up with most of the convo it seemed) and laughing and drinking beer and playing pool. I half expected to see some girls come in drunk and start dancing on tables while speakers blasted out some...party song or something (but thankfully no--there were no girls at all ♥)
$10 says one of them made a move on him, cause seriously they were all interested in this random Japanese guy who spoke English XDDDDD
I am entirely too infatuated with this man. Have applied for FC membership, WILL BE GOING TO HIS EVENTS STAT.
