SO I wound up standing in line at 10:30 last night to see the 12:02 AM showing of OOTP. Went with my dad and aunt, wound up in the same theatre as my little brother though *shrugs*



What I Liked
--Professor Umbridge, suitably bitchy and still sweet-as-roses XD
--Luna Luna Luna XD Her actress did a WONDERFUL job on her IMHO (which btw, is she American? o_O Cause I didn't hear an accent...) She made everything just the right amount of awkward XD
--Thestraaalllllsssss *________*
--All the DA scenes were REALLY well put-together. It was great seeing all the characters just growing and evolving there, and for once I really felt...I dunno, I believed it?
--FIREWORKS XD
--"Who's Cedric? Your boyfriend?" <--has been waiting to hear that line for, like, forever.
--Me? Not a Snarry shipper in the least. But I must admit I giggled FAR too much during Occlumency lessons. Harry: "Can't we take a break? We've been going at it for hours now!" XDDDDD
--Bellatrix running through the halls of the ministry yelling in that sing-song voice, "I killed Sirius Blaaack~ I killed Sirius Blaaack~"
--Azkaban? CREEPED ME OUT.
--"Dumbledore's got style." <--Oh KINGSLEY.

What I Didn't Like
--Uh, all the stuff they cut? Kreacher was in it for all of 2 minutes total, and HE was the real reason Sirius died o_O
--Bellatrix using Avada Kedavra and THEN Sirius falling through the arch, uh wha?
--The lack of much CAPSLOCK OF RAGE. Though the parts that were there I liked a lot more than when I read them o__o
--Harry&Cho kissing = tooooo loooong. Seriously, that's a good 30-45 seconds that could've been put towards some other scene.
--OWLs wha? Huh? Harry making Draco drop his teacup buh?

I do understand, though, that time restrictions were responsible for most of this, and it can't be really helped. All in all, I really enjoyed the movie. The SFX were great, and I didn't really feel rushed so much, just...missed certain scenes, I guess. Also the soundtrack left me wanting--as in, I never noticed it. At all. It gave nothing to the movie for me, unlike POTC3's, which is lskjdfhlskdfliwuefhliusehfiusfhlsid ♥________♥

Other thoughts? I likely forgot a lot.

XD The actress who plays Luna is Irish, hence certain pronunciations that are closer to American English. I have to say, too, I thought the same thing at the "going at it" scene...I snickered and glanced at my friend, who totally is not into slash, and since she didn't get it I felt like a putz. ^_~ (Not a Harry/Snape slasher, either, but one becomes attuned to innuendo...)

I did wish this movie was a little longer--I mean, it's the shortest one so far, based on the longest book so far. They can't possibly show everything, like you said, but it would have been nice to have a few more scenes in there, I agree. *nodnod*

Luna was ADORABLE.

Kiss was way too long and super gratuitous. Could have gone without, thanks.

Harry needed to REALLY show the angst. I mean, come on, it's the emo teenager book, where the hell is my angst????

"boyfriend" line was A+. Bellatrix was BEYOND A+. Tonks was A+++++++++++ and needed 3497985 more scenes.

DA scenes were gorgeous, and I didn't mind that they were long and stuff. They were nicely-paced and kept the thing moving along, gave it a sense of urgency while still communicating their building trust and friendships.

The total glossing over of the ENTIRE situation with the Order was really.... I don't know, it might be confusing for people who don't know the book. I thought it was really irritating that they let it stay that far in the background.
