So, flipping through my LAS the other night, I came across some pictures I now need opinions on:
True or False: These guys look like Nagayan and Abe.

They do, a little, right? Even KY and Nacchi thought so, too. It's creepy o___o
I forget if this was scanned or not. It never hurts, regardless:

No real purpose, just pretty guys :DDDDDD
Yesterday was a fun day--I went to work the Japan Club booth during International Week at A&M for a couple of hours. Also at the booth were Randy (the new club president, half Japanese half Venezuelan, speaks, like, 10 langauges), Keita, and Johnson-sensei. Johnson-sensei was doing calligraphy, and tried (tried XD) to teach me. Unfortunately I have little to no talent for that, but damn was it cool o___o
After a while, we got a little bored, and she asked me if I'd thought about kanji for my name yet. Truthfully, I hadn't thought about it at ALL. I always write my name with katakana, and it never really struck me to think up kanji for it. But that's what we spent the rest of my time there (and all of conversation table that night XD) doing~
Yutaka-san (very cool, but very male) dropped by to offer his "assistance" in suggesting names. His best came in the suggestion of "Write it 美人 ('bijin,' beautiful) and say it reads 'courtney' :DDDDD." I love Yutaka-san.
Of course he ruined it by helping us think of kanji for "Nii" to end my name with and suggested 兄 (the 'nii' in 'oniisan'--elder brother XD).
In the end, we couldn't decide on anything specific, so I'll put up some of the suggestions. My name should read phonetically "kou-to-nii"
琴新 (koto-nii, koto = the musical instrument, nii = "new")
Suggestions for "kou"
高 (high)
香 (scent, smell)
光 (light)
好 (love)
Suggestions for "to"
都 (large city)
斗 (a volumetric measure, usually used to measure amounts of sake XDDDD)
Suggestions for "ni/nii" (this is the hardest one :/)
新 (new)
弐 (2, used in legal documents and check writing :D)
丹 (red earth)
忍 (ok, technically, this is "nin," but I could specify it be read "ni"--and the meaning? 'endurance' by itself, BUT THIS IS THE NIN OF NINJA :OOOOO)
Johnson-sensei's ultimate suggestion: 光都忍, and yes, simply because of the ninja connotations XD Keita concurred :D
I'm wavering between using 光都忍 and 好都忍, though I do like 好都新 as well :DDDDD suggestions?
And now a poll:
[Poll #937127]

Date: 2007-02-28 04:18 pm (UTC)But yeah. That's me being silly, so I picked Serious Role, because I feel like he picks comedies as a reflex, but there's SO MUCH MORE there that he can draw from. I'd love to see him stretch himself. ^___^ Villains would be fun too, of course. But serious. Definitely. ^__^

Date: 2007-02-28 04:23 pm (UTC)And while I have nothing helpful to contribute on the topic, I think choosing kanji for your name is pretty much the coolest thing ever. :D

Date: 2007-02-28 05:04 pm (UTC)about the names, i like 琴新 :D the other names, being the weird person i am, remind me too much of people trying to write chinese in my school...

Date: 2007-02-28 05:07 pm (UTC)I lucked out because my name is also a fairly common Japanese name. >_> I just have to pick out a pre-made way to write "Emiri." :D

Date: 2007-02-28 07:04 pm (UTC)But NIN! heee. That IS awesome.
For the poll - any serious role, because he was just stunning as Gin.

Date: 2007-03-01 03:10 am (UTC)You said "serious," not "realistic," so I'm picking the two-man show. ♥ With Nagayan, obviously. I mean, Tuti even mentioned forever ago that he wanted to do a 2-man show -- he's probably forgotten by now, but whatever. :D And regardless of personal shipping preferences, those two work undeniably well together, and they certainly know how to work an audience. It would be awesome. ♥
If I can't have that, though, then a serious role, I think. He just did a comedy. *nods*
And of course, thanks for the Setomaru pic~ ♥ (I came across a scan of that the other day, or I'd be a little crazier. :D This is a cleaner scan though, so yay~)

Date: 2007-03-02 03:44 pm (UTC):: According to Courtney's translation: "Ah, as I thought many of you thought of him." ^____^
Okay, now I've got the strange urge to comment in his blog and link him back to his own post.

Date: 2007-03-02 03:43 pm (UTC)And seriously? I'd really really really love to see Nagayan and Tuti in a 2-man show. Let's forget for now that I'm an avid TxN shipper. Even if they weren't the Golden Pair, it's very hard to not notice the chemistry those two have. They get along famously, and there's just this aura about them when it's the two of them alone on stage.
Since I kinda doubt that's going to happen, I'd have a serious role for my second option. And my third option would be to see him as Hidaka Ken in a stage adaptation of Weiss Kreuz. ^_____^ (I may be weird, but I think either Daiki or Wasshi would make a great Aya.)
