Apparently Tuti's going to be in another drama in August, in 2 episodes of a new series. The name of that series?
『ママは昔パパだった』 [Mama Used to be Papa]

Tuti's...going to be in what appears to be...a transsexual drama.
I actually went and looked up a synopsis (official site here) and...that's indeed what it is! It's about a woman, Hiromi, who has two sons in elementary school, and you learn that Hiromi used to be Hiroshi, the boys' father, until he went through a sex-change operation after divorcing his wife. It appears most of the drama will center around the truth coming out, reactions from the community, and how it impacts the children (all tastefully done, I presume).
I'm REALLY curious about what Tuti's role is going to be; it doesn't appear too tiny, since he's in 2 episodes, and...I dunno, a tiny part deep down inside is kinda happy that he's actually doing stuff like this. I felt the same way when Saitou was pushing all the limits with his BL stuff, especially since I knew deep down for him it was less about fanservice and more about raising awareness of gay-rights issues and such.
Tuti's far from really comfortable being frank about his sexuality, however he may lean (seriously, "Well what do you want me to say?!"--defensive much?), so even him just appearing in this drama will be a big checkmark in my book :) Good job, dude. Especially seeing as this isn't a BL movie with it's prerequisite target audience that you can pawn off as "promoting gay rights issues", it's something far from glamorous, and possibly even more squicky to society. It's a challenge, and I'm psyched.
