alieu I came across this new play that Saitou's going to be in come December (and what's more, billed 2nd!), and since it looks to be all MANNER of awesome crack and the best thing since Tengumen for people 18 and older, I whipped out a translation of the summary real quick:
Work Intention
In the original 『MEN2 - A Man's Party』first performed in May 2002 in small-time theater, more guests than expected came to see the performance, with even those standing while watching thoroughly enjoying themselves through the surprises (in more ways than one), the laughs, and the excitement. Everyone had a wonderful time.
Since then, the director Izuta and producer Suzuki Katsuyuki vowed they would one day perform it again, putting on a musical program with much more power and revue, so they put their heads together and warmed up. Now, in December 2006 before Christmas, they've decided to hold this powered-up performance.
"This time, everything's real!"--is the aim, and they hope to especially focus on the actors, costumes, and of course the music as well.
『Everyone's a hot guy? Okama? Gay? New Half? Plus the Yakuza!--A Show Pub』[T/N: 'okama' is Japanese slang for a gay guy (probably close to the English word 'fag'; "gay" you know, and a new-half is a transvestite, I believe. A 'show pub' is, from what I can tell, a strip club :D] This will all unfold on stage!
Men and women, men and men, former-men and former-women--with all these various human relationships, bonds, love, friendship, they hope to send out a new form of entertainment, "Hard-boiled and Sexy! Exciting Dramatic Comedy!"
"Don't tell me, that actor's wearing women's clothing...?! What?! Is it a man? A woman? Which? Just who is that?"
Will even you be able to tell the difference? (haha)
Summary
Once there was a mischievous boy, Ginji (Hakamada Yoshihiko), who got caught up in a scandal and charged with assault, and was then sentenced to several years in prison. When he had served his term fully, he was released.
For the outside world, it's almost Christmas; the streets of the city are brightly illuminated, all decked out and packed with people. However, it's completely different from the time a few years before, and society treats Ginji coldly, with even the wind seeming to blow more harshly upon him. What's more, his life is also being sought by his old enemies.
With nowhere to turn, he has no choice but to rely upon a club he'd been indebted to before. However, the club members have changed as well, and arrived at such a state as he doesn't know them anymore.
But the boss of the club alone takes pity on him and welcomes him inside. He gives Ginji what he needs, when he has nowhere to work or live. Ginji pulls along with him his younger brother, Tsutomu (Saitou Takumi), of whom he'd always been fond, and when they go to look in on where they're to work, they discover it is--
It's--it's...!
A gay bar.
All of the club members are decked out in makeup and wearing sexy dresses, and when he watches them dance, Ginji is completely dumbfounded--even the boss is performing...!
Night after night, this glitzy, sexy, glamorous show opens, and Ginji is left with no choice but to work at this gay strip club... But then he's reunited with the boss's only daughter (Sakaguchi Rika, Fukui Yukari, W-cast)
A gun battle with his enemy, friendship, bonds, death of a companion, and the fleeting passion he shares with the boss's daughter.
With all this, we'll be looking forward to a dramatic Christmas!

And yes, New Half is like.. either transvestite or someone who's had a MtF or FtM sex change, I think?
Oh man. Saitou. ♥ I swear he's trying to tell us something. And he'll be in drag again! *hopes that they'll release a recording or photosets or something* Maybe 'show pub' refers to something like a dinner-and-a-show type place, like in 'Connie and Carla'? It sounds more like a drag bar than a strip club... but hey, I wouldn't complain if you were right. XD;;
