This is what I get for joining redneck_pride out of curiousity (I SWEAR! THAT'S ALL IT WAS!). Can someone please explain why this user felt it was necessary to include his/her ACCENT in the post via HORRIFIC MISSPELLING?!

I have to admit one of the things I love about being Southern is my accent. But damn, I don't TYPE like that T_T

Uh, did you forget that the South has the lowest test scores out of all the other regions (except Washington DC. They suck ass).

God knows I'm a black person and I talk like that when I'm around others with that speech pattern, but hey, at least I can write! 'Less I'm playin' 'round an messin' wit cha.

But like Chu said, that accent is one of the great things about the South. I'm rather fond of it though I'm not fond of that damn flag!

Jeez, now I need to rip the first episode of the Dave Chappelle show and let you see it. Funniest. Thing. EVAR! A black white supremacist. OMG I loved it for now reason

Hmm, that's weird, cause one of the things I'm proud of is that in spite of being raised here all my life, I've got almost no accent at all except on certain words (embarrassing situations with 'bear' and 'barn' among others).

I guess because I come from a family where no one went to college (except my aunt on my mom's side, and she's now a school teacher) and most are still living back in 'the woods.' I've come to associate a southern accent with either hicks or the stereotypical Southern Belle, and that just irks me :S

I suppose I DID forget that the accent is associated with stupidity for a reason >_> I love being from the South (except the damn humidity!) and yet not having to overcome the hurdle of the stereotype in lots of people's minds.

Seriously, I can only tolerate the South because I'm living in a large, somewhat cosmopolitan (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/World_city) city like Houston. I wanna move to Seattle when I'm older. >_
