Playing favorites~
16 January 2011 11:57 pmSO! I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT.
faded_lace has been asking me if I had a favorite for 6th cast yet (in case you didn't know, 1st cast was of course Tuti XD; and 5th cast was Tsuji~) and I supposed that it was Jin, because he is The New Hotness, and continues in a long line of Oishi's actor becoming my favorite (or at least being the person I like best in a cast even if I wasn't really a fan of the cast, as with TakiYuki in 3rd cast)--despite my only really liking Oishi in context of Golden Pair in the anime, huh XD; And after watching the show twice now, I've realized that I like Jin, I really do, and his Oishi is enjoyable, and he truly is The New Hotness, but...he's not my favorite :O (I like him, but he is much like Nagayan or Shouta, in that I inexplicably like someone else over them while still loving them to bits) And that lucky son of a gun is:

shotamaru pedomaru Koseki Yuuta~ :DDDDD
He's the only one so far who has really struck me as A Bad Enough Dude both on stage and off, and so I'm going to look into this kid and poke around at him for a while I think XD His Kikumaru is just. Yes. Yes. Like Nagayan has come back (in looks) and yet he's still very young and genki and he may not be as bouncy acrobatic as Shouta, but he holds his own and just--I really really like his Eiji! It took me a little bit but...yes, I do approve! I think I just really like that while he's really young and far younger than Jin, he absolutely doesn't look it on stage (OFF stage is another matter...). He's tall for his age, so that he genuinely looks older than Yuuki's Ryoma despite being almost the same age--to the extent that anime Eiji and Ryoma look apart in ages, that is. So, he does a good job of being more mature on stage than I had been expecting and thus not like bait to land Oishi on To Catch A Predator.
On his blog, he's...well, weird XD in a good way I guess? He doesn't seem to post things you might expect a kid his age to post so...it's interesting XD And given that he seems to have gaijin friends it makes me wonderrrrrr is he pera pera?? He seems to throw out English on his blog that's not entirely out of place, and he gives people English nicknames for no discernible reason XDDD Like, Jin is "Charlie-san" and Wada is "Jack-san" idek XDDDD It's cute, but like...wtf??
So, yes, there you have it :3 I not only approve of nu!Kikumaru, I think I may be paying more attention to him than other cast members in the future X3 Color me intrigued at the very least!

Date: 2011-01-16 04:03 pm (UTC)In any case, I'm looking forward to seeing his Kikumaru when the DVD comes out... but for right now, just seeing The Beginning DVD... Jin is still HOTTTTT.
(Also I hope Jin does not end up on To Catch a Predator XD;;;;;; Saitou escaped??)

Date: 2011-01-17 12:00 am (UTC)I love all of 6th cast but my favorite is definitely Tsurumi, though he had kind of an unfair advantage since I've seen him before and he's playing my favorite character ^^;;
Also I think I saw you the last time I went to Tenimyu, the evening of the 9th. I'd have said hi but since we've never met in real life before I thought it might be kind of awkward XD;;

Date: 2011-01-17 12:16 am (UTC)And I definitely went to the show on the 9th :O We saw a couple of other foreigners a few rows behind us--was that you?? Definitely feel free to come say hi next time :3 *loves meeting people IRL at shows*

Date: 2011-01-17 12:28 am (UTC)Yep, my friend and I were in the 6th row, right on the aisle. Also how in the world did you manage to score front row center tickets? XD Oh, and I love the miokuri thing they've been doing this time! So much fun. My friend was squealing about Tezuka for like an hour after he waved at her the first time we went XDDD

Date: 2011-01-17 12:33 am (UTC)And honestly it was pure utter luck XD; Not sure if you recall the LJer selling some extra tickets she got through the supporter's club a couple of months back on
Suffice to say I immediately deemed it worth the 4000-yen membership fee and signed up promptly XD; If you're not in it yet and are planning on going again--there may be front-row center seats with YOUR name on them next time :D
ALSO yes, loving the miokuri thing XDDDD They've done it before and all, but I've never been to one (Shitenhouji??), so it was such a treat to see them in costume so close and being themselves rather than their characters :3

Date: 2011-01-17 12:50 am (UTC)I really hope the Live Viewing sells well enough everywhere that they keep doing it. For the Final Match viewings I went to the screening in Sendai, which is way easier for me to get to than Tokyo, so I'm praying that a lot of Tohoku Tenimyu fans will go to that.
I'd never heard of the miokuri before, so it took us completely by surprise on opening night XD I must say it seems like a very good tactic for getting people to like the new cast, though in my opinion they don't really need any help with that ^^

Date: 2011-01-17 12:56 am (UTC)I always have liked the Live Viewings! It definitely takes some of the thrill away not BEING there, but the fact that it's live, that you see and hear everything in real-time, it makes up for not being there by getting close-ups and all that good stuff :D Plus it's cheaper so XD;;;
I also thought the Beginning DVD was an excellent idea! Whereas I would have otherwise gone into it not really knowing anyone other than maybe Jin initially (forget about any Fudoumine guys at all!) after watching it I was really intrigued and knew who to keep my eye on, etc. I don't imagine they'll have time to release another one of the new Rivals though :/ I'd like to get to know the new St. Rudolph/Yamabuki boys better before going to see them! So many new faces >_<;;;

Date: 2011-01-17 01:13 am (UTC)Yeah, I absolutely loved the Live Viewings, they're a lot of fun. That earthquake during Final 2nd just made it even more exciting XD And if I hadn't gotten the Senshuuraku ticket this time, I'd definitely be going to the Live Viewing again.
I love the Beginning DVD! I didn't watch it before seeing the show, but after I saw the show and fell in love with the cast I bought it right away XD Watching it after seeing the show only made me love them more, and I got more excited to see them again. Suffice it to say the 2nd Season has me as a captive audience member for as long as they like XDDD I'd love one of Rudolph/Yamabuki too, but yeah, there probably won't be another. Though I feel like I already know Jinnai Sho pretty well just from his intro video and his blog XD

Date: 2011-01-17 01:19 am (UTC)I was up on the 13th floor for that Live Viewing show so...very memorable XD yes. The tower kept swaying for like, 10 min, but apparently because JCB is below ground, the guys themselves didn't feel hardly anything??
And speaking of ticket-getting being a bitch, I'm wondering how bad the new BuriMyu is going to be, considering there's so few cast members announced at this point?? *worried and hopeful*

Date: 2011-01-17 01:59 am (UTC)Yeah, Sendai was pretty close to the epicenter in Fukushima, so it felt quite strong there. Some of the girls in my theatre screamed XD And yeah, if the boys felt anything, they definitely didn't show it.
I've never actually watched BuriMyu, I'll have to check it out sometime XD Right now the tickets I'm worried about are for one of Masuda's upcoming shows, and an event that Uehara Takuya and Sato Hisanori are doing together. *crosses fingers for good lotto results*

Date: 2011-01-17 02:11 am (UTC)St. Rudolph was my favorite first-cast Myu that dealt with an arc of the show, though, so I'm probably going to be going to see more than my fair share of performances this run (being a GP fangirl and them getting two matches), so I may take you up if I can get back to you before the lottery XD;
I was almost relieved a little bit when TeniMyu and BuriMyu 1st seasons ended because then I wouldn't have heart-pounding dramatic tickets to get anymore...and then there's this :/ BuriMyu's as hard as TeniMyu to get tickets for (or was), but now there's a new cast so I'm wondering how it'll go. I only ever watched for the cast before, really (not a Bleach fan), so while I like some of the new faces (Kujirai and Oota Motohiro and Kido Yuuya) and of course love the single old cast member staying on, it's still like...taking a chance :/ It's BukiMyu all over again!

Date: 2011-01-17 02:29 am (UTC)St. Rudolph was my favorite first-cast myu too; I'm sort of wondering how it will go when they combine it with Yamabuki. Though Side Yamabuki was sort of a combination show with Rudolph anyway, so it might not be all that different. I hope they keep Taka-san's solo from that myu, I'd really like to see Tsurumi get his own song~
Ooh, Kujirai is in it? :D I will definitely check it out at some point then, though I may end up just waiting for the DVD. I have far too many theatre fandoms already XD;;

Date: 2011-01-17 02:39 am (UTC)I really do wonder how it'll go down; this myu was okay, because there were only 2 matches in the first half, so it didn't feel rushed at all to me (whereas the second felt fairly rushed). I can't imagine how they'll fit--what, 9 matches? Into 2.5 hours @___@ I can only imagine they'll have to cut out at least a few songs, and if I lose any GP songs (3 in St. Rudolph + Good Combination's from BukiMyu right?) there will be blood. I can't imagine they'd cut out Taka-san's song though, right? I wonder if he'll still sing Tennis ni Scenario wa Nai XD
And yeah; if you're familiar with Bleach canon, he just got cast as Renji :D Then Oota (Support Ibu) is nu!Byakuya and Kido (Shitenhouji A!Kin-chan) is nu!Hitsugaya. It's an interesting line-up, and I'm excited to see them moving on to another big Myu franchise XD

Date: 2011-01-17 03:01 am (UTC)Yeah, the second half of this last myu was kind of rushed, wasn't it? I thought the doubles matches felt especially short. I'd sort of been hoping that Mori and Uchimura would get a song, since it's their first appearance in Tenimyu, but I guess there wasn't time. But I'm sure they'll get to be in the doubles shuugou later, so it all works out. And yeah, there's a lot of matches in Rudolph and Yamabuki - four in Rudolph (that I remember, anyway) and then four matches with Yamabuki plus the Tezuka-Momoshiro and Fuji-Echizen matches, not to mention the background with Akutsu and Taka-san, and with Fuji and Yuuta... eep. And yes, Good Combination was BukiMyu. I don't remember what all the GP songs from Rudolph are, though. Depend on Me was one of them, right?
I'm not all that familiar with Bleach, but I do know who Renji is. Way to go, Kujirai! And I love Oota, I'm glad he's got a new role to play. I was kind of sad that they didn't use him for 2nd Season Shinji, though I do understand them wanting to start fresh with a brand new cast. Plus Okazaki Kazuhiro is so cute that I can't be too upset about Shinji being recast again XD

Date: 2011-01-17 03:16 am (UTC)St. Rudolph was a GP-songfest (which I guess is why they're on the flyer?)--because Oishi and Eiji both get solos (Depend on Me and Juuden Kanryou) and then they get their Container scene and the reprise of Golden Pair, and add to that Good Combination in BukiMyu and there's 4, so I wouldn't surprised if they cut out one or more of those (but I'd be very disappointed XD;) or cut them short.
I'm not really understanding the point of going SO fast; maybe it was OK to combine Fudoumine and the 2 Seigaku matches initially, but...combining Rivals schools is going to get harder. It also is kind of...disappointing too? Like, it's demeaning XD; St. Rudolph and Yamabuki aren't as popular as Hyoutei, so they get stuffed together? Boo :/ I feel bad for the actors, too--in that this is usually a big break for them and they'll have a much rougher time of it now.
Also I don't know what it is but Okazaki is just really...interesting, looks-wise XD I dunno, I like his weirdly cute look! He looks a lot like Shinji, so it works <333 I saw Oota in Amadan after TeniMyu and my heart kind of grew with love for him too, so I'm excited to see him again as well <3

Date: 2011-01-17 04:12 am (UTC)Yeah, some stuff is probably going to get shortened for the new myu :/ I hope Yuuta at least gets his full song; I remember in the first BukiMyu he only sang about half of it.
I think maybe they're trying to get all the way through the storyline with just one Seigaku? Or trying to get through the original storyline so they can make ShinTenimyu using the new cast (I don't even know if ShinTenimyu is possible, given all the characters it would take, but if they make it I'll give it a try)? I don't know. I think people will still support the new boys, but it is sad that the less popular teams are getting less of an opportunity to shine. And I don't know what they're going to do with the Rokkaku and Rikkai myus. I don't think Rokkaku myu could really be combined with Rikkai. They might try to make Rikkai into just one myu, which could be done, but if they cut any of the songs I will be very sad. One thing I would love to see this season would be more Fudomine involvement, since they appear so much in the background of the series, though I doubt it will happen.
Okazaki really has the perfect face for Shinji, doesn't he XDDD He was so much fun to watch in the Beginning DVD. From his performance in the myu I'd never have guessed that he'd had so much trouble with the dancing, he really improved a lot!
XD
Date: 2011-01-17 04:21 am (UTC)Yeah, I was just thinking about Rokkaku and Rikkai, too! Rokkaku's not "big" enough to merit their own myu this time, if St. Rudolph and Yamabuki aren't either, I think--but it seems strange for Hyoutei to get their own Myu and Rikkai not to, so...what will happen with Rokkaku? Maybe they'll actually bring in The Other Team (Josei Shounan in the anime, right? And...Ginka? *not clear on that*) to balance it out? I'd go just for the lolz.
It would certainly be refreshing to be able to see a single team go through the entire series together *____* But it also seems really hard; Seigaku casts are typically what, 1.5 years? Maybe close to 2 if you push it (5th cast was August 2008 to May 2010, I think that was the longest...)? Crushing 7 years of musicals into 2 is...wow D: so much dnw.
Re: XD
Date: 2011-01-17 04:37 am (UTC)Yeah, it would be very odd to have Rikkai sharing a myu with Rokkaku. I would actually love it if they brought in the other team rather than just summarizing their matches. I think it was Midoriyama in the manga, and if I recall correctly that was the team they used in the first Rokkakumyu (though none of the members actually appeared) rather than Josei Shonan. The small contingency of Midoriyama fans would be very happy if that happened, I think XD
Yeah, I don't think they could possibly do it in any less than 4 years and have it still be enjoyable. Assuming they kept going at the same pace of 3 myus + 1 live every year and didn't combine any others, they'd be done in spring or summer 2014, I think. That would be an awfully long time to keep a Seigaku around, though maybe for the 2nd season everyone just had to sell their souls to Ueshima-sensei as part of their contracts XD I really have no idea. And I'm guessing nothing about next year's myus will be announced until the live in the fall :\
