So. Wow.

Holy shit.

I realize I say this about a number of shows, but...but Dream Live 7th was the. Fucking. Best. Show. I have ever seen. Ever. I seriously cannot possibly imagine how it could have been better, mostly because it gave me things I didn't even consider possible. And I get to see this magnificent beast many more times and sldfuhsidufs

Songs sung which I had not been expecting but was fucking ecstatic to hear
-Run Run Run
-Do Your Best (FUCK YEAH 5TH CAST VERSION. I love this song by 2nd cast, but it was just made all the more awesome by having my new fave cast sing it themselves!)
-Aoku Moeru Honoo (didn't they do this at DL6th? Whatevs, IT WAS AWESOME)
-Saigo no Golden Pair <--I'MMA TALK THE FUCK ABOUT THIS SONG LATER ON IN THIS POST. BUT YEAH. FUCK YES. WILLIKERS. This song on its very own accounted for probably 95% of why this is my favorite show to date :P
-Shinobi wo Kezuru Mono-tachi (or however it's titled; a really awesome song I loved from Final Match 2)
-VICTORY (*clapclapclap* VICTOLYYYYYYY :D they even did the moves XD)
-Omoidase Echizen (I just love Toshi's and particularly Ryuuki's voice in this song) + two good Echizen songs from Final Match 2
-This is the Prince of Tennis <--now, let me clarify. I was happy to hear this of course, but I wouldn't say I was surprised to hear it, as I'd just heard it at Final Match 2. So...why is it on this list? Oh BECAUSE 1ST CAST SANG IT. THEY SANG IT ALL ON THEIR OWN AND IT WAS LIKE BEING IN SHOEN ALL OVER AGAIN sduyfgsduyfksdfs
-5th cast's ballad <--again, happy, but not so surprised...except for the fact that, again, 1ST CAST SANG IT. You might expect that this would've peeved me off a bit, and at first it did a little bit after I got over the "holy fuck are they singing 5th cast's ballad?!"........that is, until all this fog rolled onto the stage after the first verse, 5th cast walked on and took over singing, and 1st cast faded into the shadows and sldihusdfs it was really touching and moving and perfect for illustrating that sense of opening and closing this series and fuck I know I'm going to bawl at it at senshuuraku because I got teary-eyed watching it :P
-Banzai (another Final Match 2 song; it's insanely happy and upbeat and a good song to end the show with, which is why it was towards the end)

Fun happenings and awesome stuff in general about the show
-There's one scene where Niou and Fuji are alone on stage, and Niou asks Fuji to show him how his racket lights up (as it does during their match), so Fuji shows him, Niou is impressed, and cuteness abounds XD Unfortunately...Taito's racket decided to break right in the middle of the scene at the evening show and they were kind of left there going, ".......Oh so. Umm. What should we do?" and eventually they decided to have the audience PRETEND it lit up, be impressed, and then move to the next scene XDDDD
-.....Kubobe totally throws Hosogai this amazing come hither look that I love ever single time 8D
-Kime winks during one of the songs and saidhfsdf it's adorable XD
-Just to reiterate: 1st cast is totally still extremely fucking popular, if the deafening screams of "NAGAYAAAAAAAAAN! KIMEEEEEEE!!! TSUCCHIIIIIII!!!" from around me were anything to go by 8D
-Still on Kime here: Good. God. I don't know how it's possible, but he looks somehow even more like Fuji now than he ever did in TeniMyu before. Just, his build, height, his hair, his demeanor, everything. He really is just the perfect Fuji for me :(

OH OKAY SO SO SO. First, let me explain about what exactly it is 1st cast does in this show.

This thing is three hours long (well, ~2 h 45 min, but still). The first 2 hours or so are taken up by the usual boys--5th cast mostly (there's pleasantly a lot of Seigaku focus, which is totally up my alley) but Rikkai and Shitenhouji definitely get their fair share, with the Rivals being comparatively short-ended. Still, for a large portion of the show, there's no hint there are any other guests. Hell, the images always shown at the beginning introing everyone don't even show 1st cast or indicate them at all. What.

But if you think that's any indication that 1st cast were just going to waltz onto the stage and waltz right back off...my dears you are sorely mistaken :DDDDDD They get way more time than 5th cast did at DL6th, amounting to probably a good 10 minutes of JUST them, and subsequent cameos in other songs afterwards. They got a good few songs, including Kore ga Seigaku Regular-jin Da, This is the Prince of Tennis, and a medley of solos (Ore wa Momo-chan, Tough, Burning, and Kimi to Nakama de Yokatta IIRC), plus their aforementioned verse of 5th cast's ballad.

There's a whole talk corner just for them where, at each show, they read questions or comments submitted by other cast members (today was Shimizu Ryoutarou [Akutsu B] and Takeyan [Koharu A]) which they then talk about--such as strong memories of certain scenes they might have (asked in the afternoon corner) and memorial "happenings" (accicdents, etc. - asked in the evening).

The BEST THING EVER (well, best for me as a TxN shipper ;D) came in the evening. They were trying to think of "happenings" and Tuti suggested as an example they talk about dropping their rackets while dancing. Conveniently timed as, earlier that afternoon, MoriEiji had accidentally dropped his during one of the songs 8D;;; However, Tuti reminded us, that wasn't exactly something from a long while back.

In fact, one moment in particular stuck out to him. It was from GradMyu, right when he and Nagayan were getting up from their bench to go and kick ass in doubles. In the scene, he explained, he was to stand up with Nagayan, and Nagayan was supposed to twirl his racket around his wrist to get pumped up. He even recited the fucking lines (how the hell did he remember this?! I'm almost positive he said them correctly, as they sounded really familiar), the Japanese of which I won't attempt to mangle, but it was along the lines of, "Oh, that guy who rarely gets serious has gotten his game-face on. Korya taihen."

Apparently at one of the shows...Nagayan dropped his racket during this maneuver XD This was made worse by the fact that it happened right before Tuti said, "Korya taihen" ("This is looking bad" [meant: bad for the opposing team]).

This story was hilarious in itself and cute because ~*~Tuti remembered the happening AND the lines~*~ but.........for some reason they then decided to fucking reenact it XDDDDD So...we got to watch them all wander around flustered trying to remember where everyone was standing just so Tuti and Nagayan could relive some moments from their journey of love and youth and whatnot :D And if you were wondering, it was fucking awesome watching them redo this scene :P Like watching a DVD live *____*

After their corner, though, they leave the stage for most of the rest of the show, but they also come back on for a bit during both FGKS and On My Way which is just.......eerie, let me say XD It's so weird seeing these people I'm used to seeing dance these clunky old dances doing these modern ones I'm used to seeing done by the likes of the Rikkai and Shitenhouji boys and 5th cast. It's.....nice :D

Now, THE BEST PART OF THE SHOW:

Everyone knows there's always a doubles segment, right? Of course right! I was nervous as to what the song would be, and who would be involved in it. Turns out I not only worried for nothing, it was better than I could've imagined.

If you didn't guess, the doubles segment song this time.........was Saigo no Golden Pair.

"But Courtney!" I hear you cry, "You bitched and whined for the past 2 years that your first TeniMyu made you cry because they took a solely Golden Pair song and made it a doubles song! HYPOCRITE."

Oh shut up. You didn't let me finish! There are several points to consider when trying to understand why this made me want to cry in the BEST way (and I admit, I did actually shout, "HOLY FUCK" because I was so surprised at one point XDDDDD):

1) T2 are very definitely the focus; the other doubles pairs are left on the main stage as backup dancers, while T2 are alone on the center stage being adorable and touchy-feely.
2) The one part of the song that is definitively Golden Pair-oriented aka the lyrics "Kore wa saigo no Golden Pair" and "Ore to omae wa Golden Pair"..............are sung only by T2 :D All the other pairs sing along with the rest of the song, but when it comes to those parts, everyone else falls silent and only two voices ring out across the arena :D AS IT SHOULD BE :D
3) .............................TUTI AND NAGAYAN SING AND DANCE WITH THEM. Granted, they're back on the main stage with the other pairs, and granted it's not so much them singing as Nagayan lip-synching all of Shouta's lines (I didn't catch Tuti doing Tsuji's, spoilsport XD) but but but THIS IS FUCKING AWESOME. It's also the reason I shouted "HOLY FUCK", as the first time I saw the show, I was in the very front and thus couldn't see T2 when they passed by to get to the center stage, so I turned to face forward again (rather than behind me, where they were), to watch on the big center screen....and there sneaking on in the very middle of the stage were two 30-somethings in Seigaku uniforms :D Let it also be known: they were the only 1st cast-ers to dance in this song :D Inui/Kaidoh were covered by Ebo and Akki, and TakaFuji was Ikko and Taito (so no Naoya or Souta or Kime or Eiki........just Tuti and Nagayan playing a superfluous Golden Pair :D).
4) ..............Nagayan gives Tuti the best little dekopin during the song and it is cute and flirty and sldjfushldfs yes :D

Before I forget, awesome T2 stuff
-There's a scene early on where just Seigaku are on stage, informing the audience of their championship at Nationals, and Oishi makes the comment to his team, "There's one person we owe this all to..................." *looooong pause, staring at Tezuka, who's very obviously nervously awaiting to be praised so he can gruffly rebuff it* ..... *rushes over and grabs Eiji by the shoulders* "EIJI THIS IS ALL BECAUSE YOU WERE THERE WITH ME!!" *insert Eiji's huge grin and giggles and "OISHI~~~!!!" plus lots of unnecessary touching and squeezing and skinship 8DDDDD (this scene then continues with each character complimenting someone else--as I remember it, it's Oishi-->Eiji (because they are gay lovers...just because XD;)-->Fuji (because he's a tensai)-->Taka (I forget why, only that everyone screamed and they were adorable :P)-->Inui (supporting the team from the shadows)-->Kaidoh (hardworker)-->Momo (good rival)-->Echizen (duuuuuh)---------------------->Tezuka XD *insert very adorable Baba fighting a smile and blushing XDDDD
-God Shouta's acrobatics were perfect and awesome this time around! He never ceases to amaze *_____*

Photosets are AWESOMECAKES. Meg's scanning right now, I'll up them in a few!
