Well, THAT was a nice pic to wake up to :D THANK YOU BABA+T2! It never fails to put a smile on my face that you're all still posting Golden Trio pics ;_; KEEP IT UP YOU FIERCE BITCHES.

So last night was opening night for the Tokyo Return shows, the last leg of a 2+ month run of shows for this Final Match Rikkai, Take 2 XD Since I wasn't able to snag either of the two Tokyo shows that were running before I left for America for Christmas vacation, I had to wait aaaaalllll this time til the boys came back to Tokyo, and it was worth the wait, I think XD

I had a front row seat--awesome, no? .......No. XD; I was in seat 9, which...was so far off to the left, it wasn't even in front of the stage anymore, dammit :P It was a really horrible seat, with a view blocked 75% of the time by lights and/or speakers, but...well, I was there, and I was seeing it :D So that was the important thing!

The show starts off with the usual fanfare of songs and dances, along with a brief melodic recap of the matches thus far against Rikkai. Since this Myu was comprised of ONLY the Echizen vs. Yukimura match, they had a lot of time to kill XD

Almost the entire first half was made up of the various rivals who'd played against Echizen helping him to get his memories back, plus a brief flashback that showed how he lost them in the first place. As I had never read this arc, this was all new info for me, and...I'm not too sure I understood it perfectly? Were he and Nanjirou playing by a waterfall...and Ryoma fell in? idek

The scene leading up to the waterfall scene, though, involves Echizen and his dad meeting up in the audience. Nanjirou entered from a door on the far side, weaving around the audience, whereas Ryuuki entered...RIGHT beside our row and stopped literally RIGHT in front of me. I could've reached my arm out and touched him 8D Never considered myself a Ryuuki fangirl but hubbahubba 8DDDDD

As the rivals helped get Echizen's memories back, they all sang some remixed version of their character's song, which was interesting XD I hadn't heard Ibu's song in so long, it was like hearing it for the first time XD Also, Keeeeennnnnnn *______*

(BTW, we had all the "new" rivals tonight: new!Akutusu and new!Nanjirou, who weren't bad, but I definitely prefer their predecessors)

Also, I noticed that everyone in general had gotten a lot better at singing, and 5th cast in particular had gotten REALLY good at sounding amazing as a cast, guh. Way to go, guys!!

After a brief intermission, the second act started, which focused mainly on the actual match since Echizen had gotten most of his memories back, apparently.

Now, I'm going to post here exactly what I'm sure T2's script (because they probably had one between them) looked like. This is sooper seekrit information, now, so pay attention:

ACT 1: Be somewhere that is not on stage. Be absent except for group songs. Make that foreigner in the front row disappointed.

ACT 2: Be as touchy-feely as physically possible without actually mounting each other (already did that last Myu). Remember that the Golden Pair are never satisfied unless they are grabbing some part (any part is fair game, really!) of one another, please play up this point as much as possible. SKINSHIP.

8DDDD SO yeah, I was a lot happier when it came time for the second act XD Also, there's one song where a few of Seigaku come out during the match and sing some encouraging song or something to Echizen--I remember Fuji, and I think Momo may have, too? Oishi and Eiji also come out, one on either side of the net--at the same time, and sing their lines separately, but after the finish their separate lines, they have one line they sing in sync (I think it was, "Ganbare yo, Echizen!") and it just made me happy that they were the only ones to get that 4-word duet XDDDD

There were quite a few good songs this run, and a lot that were really reminiscent of older songs, or remixes of them rather (like the above-mentioned rivals songs), but I really think my favorite song this run was Banzai! It's the celebratory song Seigaku sings after they win and it was just...ADORABLE. No other words to describe it. It wasn't a SONG song, I guess? More like saying words to music with a melody...but still really ACTING out the words? Like a proper musical? idek, but it was CUTE XD Shouta was just...god I wanted to pinch his cheeks XD

Also, 5th cast got their ballad this run <33333 Truthfully, I wasn't all that impressed (I rarely am by the ballads--even Now and Forever is something I can only listen to every now and then), but I'm expecting it to grow on me, as it wasn't horrible or anything.

I think my favorite part of the myu in general, though, was the end--past, of course, the really sad graduation ceremony for the 3rd years and all that did they really have to show that sad crap on stage??? >_____>;;;--because we got not JUST FGKS, as I'd expected (and which came at the very end), but..........ON MY WAY!

I've never heard On My Way sung at the end of a regular show. I heard it the one time for DL6th (was it at DL5th too?), but that was a Dream Live, and I was way up in the balcony anyways. I really love that song, though, so it was a treat getting to hear it in a smaller venue than Tokyo Taiikukan XD

ALSO ALSO. They went and did something that I know would have made me cry if it hadn't been such an upbeat song: THEY SANG "THIS IS THE PRINCE OF TENNIS" 8DDDDDDDDDDD I think my favorite part of it was the beginning where they had the rivals say the Shitteru kai? part in their respective dialect/speaking manner, because Shiraishi did the "Kakko ii yo!" part in Kansai-ben, and there's NOTHING better than hearing that beautiful voice of Sasaki's going, "Kakko ee de~"

And for FGKS, we had Kachiro and Akutsu walk by us...but the best part was Akki coming all the way over to the side of the stage and waving the crap out of us 8DDDD I always feel goofy and weird waving at them because, well, they can't see you....except Akki was all of 5 feet from us and of course he could see us so...I waved 8DDDD Akkiiiiiiii~

Aaaaand that was it! I'll go see next Friday's show as well (7th row...waaaaay on the other side of the theater, in another side seat XD;) and then after that all that's left for me to see will be senshuuraku on the 14th...at which I'll probably be crying inside my little movie theater :( It'll be the senshuuraku of the last actual Myu for the first run of TeniMyu, the run that Tuti and Nagayan and Eiji and Kime and all of those amazing guys started that's finished with the first cast I've really and truly fallen in love with since them...and I guess that makes it better for me? That the boys I wanted to see finish it so bad GET to?

I've mentioned it before but...I'm ambivalent about them restarting the Myus, as I hear that's what they're going to do (really, they can't do more than one, MAYBE two new ones off the material from ShinPuri, so it'd be stupid to start with that already when it's a dead end without a greater wealth of material to buffer musicals). Of COURSE I don't want to see them redoing material that I'll always associate with any certain cast, especially 1st cast, which is so near and dear to me, but...I'm also a little excited to see how they do it, I guess? Like, if they can get all new songs and dances (or at least only recycle a few really good standbys like "This is the Prince of Tennis") then...I think they could do a good job of it, make it 6th cast's own, if you will.

That also reminds me that Meg and I were randomly discussing the other day about the new BuriMyu cast, and definitely decided we would cut off limbs to see Shouta as Gin (it was the mouth and that kind of quiet creepiness he has sometimes 8D), Tsuji as Izuru (if you don't think he can be nervous and bumbling, have you SEEN Secret Box???), and Baba as Byakuya (....it's Tezuka, take 2 8D). Sure, they're awfully young for those parts, but not really that much more than the guys were after graduating TeniMyu...which is really disturbing, because it felt like Tuti et al. all looked so much OLDER, even Nagayan! Craziness.
