Hope you had a good Birthday weekend!!!
Patience is a Virtue
The food market has a little more to offer than one of the dozen conbini located in the same area. It isn't all that crowded, but there are more patrons than he expected at the late hour on a weeknight, most of whom pretty much ignore the two of them, too busy with their own missions of marking item after item off their shopping lists. A list is something Takashi believes his friend should think of bringing along as he follows after Gaku who aimlessly wanders the store, seemingly picking things up as they catch his friend's eye. Aside from a girl here and there that may do a subtle double take in their direction, no one stares or seems to think twice (or even care) about two guys shopping for groceries.
"You didn't have to come," Gaku says, throwing another impulse buy into the basket his friend is lugging around.
Takashi gives Gaku a disbelieving look. "Yes, because the begging would have stopped if I would have declined."
Gaku turns a shade of pink that isn't very becoming on the guy, before pouting. "Mou, you're so mean."
Takashi laughs and then pulls a mock attitude. "You think I'm mean? After I agreed to accompany you on your quest for food, you have the nerve…"
"Gomen, gomen, gomen!" Gaku shouts out with bows and some how his friend manages to not spill anything out of the store basket.
Takashi rolls his eyes again, smacking the top of Gaku's head, as they continue around the corner of one aisle to head down the next.
"Anyway, what else did I have to do tonight," Takashi throws out, thinking of Tuti who is working a few Prefectures away, before stopping to pull out his cell phone from his second generation Tuti collaboration bag. "Hey, hold up the basket and smile."
Gaku doesn't question at first, doing as requested and striking a goofy pose complete with a cheesy grin.
Takashi pulls a face (one only Tuti could understand and appreciate), as he holds his phone at arm's length and snaps a picture.
"What was that for?" Gaku belatedly inquires, adding a few different varieties of Cup-O-Noodle to the basket next to the growing collection of quick and cheap foods all struggling actors live on at one point or another in their careers.
Takashi doesn't readily answer the question, too busy punching characters into an accompanying text message before sending the image off with a certain sense of satisfaction.
"What did you say?" He asks, following after Gaku who is now at the end of the aisle.
"The photo, what was that for?" Gaku reiterates as they round the corner of the next aisle.
"Nothing," he replies with a sweet and trying for innocent look. "I was just proving a point."
"Eh? To who?"
He gives Gaku a look that sadly doesn't clear anything up.
"Tell me! I was in the picture after all. I deserve to know."
"I was proving a point to a certain backwards boyfriend who doesn't like doing certain things because he's afraid of commitment… even if he does deny that last part."
Gaku stares wide-eyed at him, shock written all over the guy's face, and Takashi can only begin to guess what is going through Gaku's head.
