Just got reminded by Beri's entry that I should post some more about this weekend! As many of you know, I had a HORRIBLE day Friday, and it only got worse with my trip to Osaka afterwards >_>

I'm so serious >_> I didn't like ANYTHING about it other than the fact that for a while there was *pnish* in it >_>

Friday, I got to Osaka station about 6:15. The show was set to start at 7:00, so I had 45 minutes to find a theater which, the website said, was a 10 minute walk from Osaka station. However, it was only a THREE minute walk from Nakatsu station, so I decided not to chance getting lost in the 10 minute walk, and easily found the subway station, going the one stop to Nakatsu.

Disembarking, I found the approriate exit I was to take to get to Umeda Geijutsu Gekijou, and confident I would be hard-pressed to get lost, I made my way out.

And got SUPERBLY lost.

I would realize the next day that I was literally AROUND THE CORNER from the theater. That had I turned left instead of right, I would have SEEN the theater after 20 feet. But of course I had to turn left. And walk far away. And get in a taxi that refused to take me to the theater (YES. REFUSED. He said cars couldn't go there. EXCEPT THERE WERE TAXIS AND TRUCKS AND OTHER CARS DRIVING ALL AROUND THE THEATER.) And on top of all that it was RAINING ;_;

I'm amazed after all that I was only 5 minutes late. Of course in that 5 minutes, I missed the awesome opening dance >_>

Saturday was DEFINITELY much better. I left in plenty of time, had no problems getting to the station--and the only bit of bad luck I had was that I didn't have anything smaller than 10,000yen to pay the taxi driver, who had no change for me. So what did I do? Gave him the change I did have (~300 yen, less than half of the fare) and he let me go and apologized for not having enough change for me XD;;;; So a cheap taxi ride! Thanks ossan!

Took a little doing to track down Beri and Cinnamon in Osaka/Umeda station, and after about 20 minutes of trying to get OUT of the station, we all agreed we hated Osaka. We managed to actually find the appropriate exit, and I felt more confident since I recognized some stuff from the previous evening, so we found the theater with more than a half hour left before the show.

Cinnamon's and Beri's umbrellas, respectively. Beri CLAIMED they weren't trying to buy TxN colors when they purchased the things, but I think that just goes to show how it's worming its way into their lives and subconsciously affecting them nonetheless >)

I pre-ordered my copy of the DVD (I'm #1547--that means over 1500 people had already ordered it before more *_____* sasuga *pnish*!), so [livejournal.com profile] cienna--look forward to it in a few months XD;;; Beri and I were sitting on the 2nd row for this performance, and it was this one I chose to write up my report on.

Random side note: there were a TON of girls with either the third child or TxN references it felt like XD there was even one girl with a bright yellow tshirt on and a cute red plaid skirt *_____* WANT. I'm amazed at how often I see them--I NEVER see the first shirt, and only OCCASIONALLY see girls with The Bag, but I see this 3rd child EVERYWHERE. LOVE.

A bit before the show, Beri and I got comfortable in our seats, and I took COPIOUS notes in my cute new TxN notebook she gave me ♥ Like it or not, hon, you're helping my fandom ♥

After the bows, the whole cast usually comes back on for curtain call, and Daiki asks one of the cast members to say something about their experience, and at maeraku it was TECCHAN. Tecchan, though, is very shy when speaking in front of an audience like that I guess, and hadn't prepared anything. He hemmed and hawed for a while, with *pnish* trying to give him hints on what to talk about. This prompted the following exchange between him and Tuti:

Tecchan: "I really don't know what I should say here, though..."
Tuti: "Well we understand you don't know what to say, but TRY."

The "try," it should be noted, was IN ENGLISH. WHAT. SO RANDOM XDDDDDDD A bunch of Japanese and then BAM. TRY.

I'll be writing up my full report later of course, but a few fun notes: What's been the most different about this show for me is that for the first time, the characters I want to slash (because I pretty much ALWAYS want to slash their characters, they just make such slashy ones XD) are NOT Eiji's and Daiki's *____* In fact, even though I was really happy their characters got some time alone on stage for a hot fight sequence, I didn't care much at all that the characters weren't that interested in each other at all.

Which characters did I really like the interactions with and start thinking up storylines in my head involving them after all these shows?

Tuti's Garakusha and Eiji's Tachibana - Garakusha is the main character, and a dead ringer for a samurai version of Tuti. High-strung and cocky (for good reason, cause he kicks ass), he wants to be stronger than, well, everyone, with an eventual goal to defeat Mizuki's Ryoumei. Tachibana is Ryoumei's former follower samurai, whose job it was to pretty much be his bodyguard.

Ryoumei eventually takes over as his clan's head, and Tachibana realizes he's not needed anymore, and swears his allegiance to Garakusha, because over their time together he's realized that he really wants to see Garakusha's growth as a samurai, wants to see him get bigger and better and stronger and eventually challenge (and defeat possibly) Ryoumei. Their relationship at first is antagonistic, because Tachibana sees Garakusha as kind of scum and thinks Ryoumei is crazy for teaming up with him, but then by the end Tachibana's realized that Garakusha's gonna be a great samurai some day, and wants to help MAKE him great. dkfuhsiudhfsli YES.

Wasshi's Shisui and Daiki's Saiga - Shisui is a tight-lipped, unemotional super-powerful samurai (he's got this ability to go all matrix-y and stop time or something o_O) who leads the Ina clan, which was defeated by the Hanyuu clan (Ryoumei's). His only focus now is to meditate and regroup his clan, with the goal of killing Hanyuu Kenmei, the clan's current head. He's strong, silent, but has a steadiness to him that gives strength and comforts those around him.

Saiga, on the other hand, reminds me A LOT of Daiki's character in Reverse Historica (Hideyoshi). Saiga is upbeat, quick-witted, sly, and extremely intelligent. He's called "Sakiyomi no Saiga" or "Saiga of the Foresight"--because he's known for being able to read ahead of a situation in an instant to see possible outcomes, positive and negative, weighing the consequences and making quick decisions. He's really charming, and never uses a sword, instead threatening people with guns and bombs which only shoot flowers (though he's an expert marksman as is shown in a scene near the end--he just chooses not to take lives if possible).

Both Saiga and Shisui are the former heads of the Ina clan, and are always together. Saiga usually depends on Shisui to take care of any problems that seem to big for him to lift a finger on, instead opting for smaller missions and letting Shisui meditate.

There's one scene where Saiga walks onto the stage to find Shisui meditating alone. He eyes Shisui going, "Thought I'd find you here," and lets him know that they sold some stuff in town and got quite a lot of money. (Daiki makes some kind of implicative facial gestures, though it could just be construed as Saiga's cockiness) "If there's anything you want...just tell me 8DDDDD"

Shisui's an idiot though and obviously can't tell Saiga's hitting on him :P "The only thing I want is Hanyuu Kenmei's life." Bah.

tl;dr I WANT TO SHIP TUTIANDEIJI AND WASSHIANDDAIKI. JUST IN THIS PLAY. AND JUST THEIR CHARACTERS, NOT THEM DDDDDD: It's their fault for looking so good in period clothing >_>

Anyways, back to my talking about yesterday!

After we got out of maeraku, we killed time wandering around--going back to the station, walking around Umeda (best cafe name I've ever seen: Cafe Cocodoco [Cafe "Where the heck are we?"]), realizing how close I'd been before I got lost the day before, and in general being very hot.

Senshuuraku FINALLY came around, and it was AWESOME because there was so much that went wrong. Daiki's flower-firing gun and flower-shooting bomb both malfunctioned, and poor Mizuki forgot a sweet potato prop, prompting this fun exchange:

Mizuki: "If you're so hungry here, eat this!" *gives Tuti air*
Tuti: "......what the hell is this. You gave me nothing."
Mizuki: :OOOOOOOO "YOU DON'T KNOW WHAT A SWEET POTATO IS?! REALLY?!"
Tuti: "Of course I know what a sweet potato is BUT YOU GAVE. ME. NOTHING. THERE IS NOTHING HERE S,DFLIUSHDFSFS"

Well, to that effect at least. When Mizuki tried to walk off stage after that, his shoe came off and he had to run back and get it XD;;;

At another scene, one of the characters--a monk--ad libs a little bit talking about some of his "friends" getting REALLY drunk, and in previous shows he'd usually ragged on Tuti and/or Eiji, saying that a couple of the friends seemed to lose more hair and get a bigger forehead as they drank. At senshuuraku he pulled out all the stops and pulled Daiki and Wasshi in--saying that one of his friends drank so much it was making his beard grow at an unbelievable rate, and that another one got really drunk and it just made his getting tongue-tied even worse than usual XD;;;

At senshuuraku's curtain call after the bows, instead of having the whole cast come out, *pnish* came out by themselves, and talked to the audience for a few minutes, about nothing particularly special. They talked about their excitement to finally be in Osaka (on the heels of Kobe last year with Secret Box), about doing a period play, about Mizuki, and even about kicking out Eiji and bringing in Taizou (who played Daiki's character's underling Namikiyo) as his replacement.

A bit of explanation--in the opening scene, the cast are introduced in such a way that you can see who's connected to whom. This means Daiki, Wasshi, Tuti, and Taizou are all introduced first, and together, because their characters are all related--Daiki and Wasshi are the heads of their clan, and Taizou and Tuti are their respective underlings, all very close. Eiji, on the other hand, is Mizuki's character's underling, and so he is introduced much later. So during the opening dance, it looks like *pnish* is Daiki, Wasshi, Tuti, and...Taizou XD

They then called Mizuki out on stage with them to talk, and he talked some about his experience, that he hoped to be back again, and if you didn't know it--Mizuki's POPULAR. REALLY popular. He's a Johnny's Boy, after all. And that means he has Johnny's Boy fans. I'm sorry if any of you like Johnny's stuff, but I've yet to meet a fan who isn't just a little crazy, and most of you strike me as super psycho, foreign or Japanese :P My experience with Mizuki's fans just reaffirmed that view XD

When he walked on, they started up, with calls from all over the theater of "MIZUKI-SAAAAN!" and "KAKKOII YOOOO~!!" and Mizuki kind of lapped them up and nodded nicely, but...Daiki was having none of that XD The other members had been in the middle of a conversation when Mizuki walked on, and were now getting drowned out by the girls' yells. So Daiki did the Leader thing, held his hands up, got a, "Bitch best SHUT UP" look on his face and said, "Uh, can we speak?"

LEADERMODE FTW. The girls fell silent immediately ♥ Seriously, I love that when he takes charge, he TAKES CHARGE. There's no being nice about it--being nice is what he usually does, so when he is driven to the point that he has to bitch someone out, he is NOT nice about it. GO BOY.

Before they ended, they had the whole cast come on and introduce themselves--I think the one I was most impressed with was I Tegan (anyone know the proper way to romanize his name? He's Korean...). Daiki would call on each person to introduce himself, and when it was supposed to be his turn, he SKIPPED OVER THE POOR GUY and moved to Taizou. It really was an honest mistake (and definitely not planned from what I could see XD Daiki seemed REALLY embarrassed), and the entire theater was one big, "EEEEEEHHHHHHH?!?!??!" and Daiki immediately realized his mistake.

You had to feel SO PROUD of the kid though: he's definitely not a native speaker, but he's quite good nonetheless. He seems like me--almost fluent in type (his blog entries seem perfect to me), but if he has to open his mouth, IMMEDIATE FAIL XD He seemed so nervous, and sputtered out a, "HI I'M I TEGAN I'M FROM KOREA BYE." XDD;;;

Daiki seemed to have taken a shine to the kid though, and wanted to show off--and then said something that sounded to me like typical Daiki-babble, all unintelligible. Tegan then turned to the audience and said in Japanese, "So what Daiki-san was trying to say in bad Korean was for me to say my thoughts on Samurai Mode," after which he said he had fun and it was a good experience, and he hoped to work with them again XDDDDD Every fantasy I ever had about for some reason being on stage with *pnish* was realized in him :D Made me really happy~

After the cast intros, everyone bowed again and left the stage. The lights came up and everyone was supposed to leave, the voice even came on the loudspeaker telling everyone the show was over, but no one moved XD We all kept clapping like idiots til *pnish* came out AGAIN for a final bow, thanked everyone, and then left again ♥ I LOVE SENSHUURAKU.

THEN............THERE WAS DEMACHI. I don't think there were any people there who had more fun just WAITING for the guys than us XDDDDD We talked about so many stupid things: how I should have taken a pic of a roach that was crawling around near us and post it implying it was Gaku saying, "LOOK WHO CAME TO OSAKA DEMACHI!!" XD or how Eiji probably goes jogging in the old On4 *pnish* jumpsuits (with goggles!) and tries to hit on conbini store clerks but just winds up scaring them ("So....how old do you think I look? Come on, you can be honest.") and how Eiji loves talking to people in Japanese whether he thinks they speak it or not, so Tuti would have to translate for him, and would probably purposefully screw up his chances with foreign female fans.

Eiji: (Japanese) "Wow, thank you so much for coming! This means a lot to all of us."
Tuti: (English) "So, he says he thinks your shirt is too revealing and makes you look slutty, and that he's choking on your strong perfume. He also called you a whore, but then that's a compliment here, so..."

This was only made funnier by Eiji stopping and kind of staring at us as he went by with *pnish*, because we all agreed it must've been Beri's RACY SHIRT that attracted his gaze (for the record, it wasn't racy at all XD)

And of course, like I said, TUTI WAS TOTING A TOT. A tot in the form of a bag settled comfortably at his hip~

The ride home was fun--we had to stand crammed into a car for 45ish minutes until the crowd thinned out, and then when we finally all sat down, we got stuffed next to this chick with 20 lbs of makeup on, hair the size of Texas (A WIG PROBABLY >_>), and an annoying voice as she chatted on a cellphone. When she sat down, she was wearing pantyhose. 5 minutes changed that, as she TOOK THEM OFF RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF US. WHY?! MOST. AWKWARD. TRAIN RIDE. EVER. This chick was NOT shy about showing us her underwear or crossing and uncrossing her legs, or trying to eat with her 5 inch long nails. GEEEEEZ.

Next weekend is the last PaniSuta, the myu/play thing with Naoya+Mamo+Saiga Mitsuki+KG, apartment hunting, TxN event, and of course HAPPY *PNISH* BIRTHDAY 7!!
