fencer_x: (Best Friends Forever)
Went to see Cats today in Japanese at the Cats Theater in Gotanda -- I took a few pics inside and outside the theater (inside = lobby area, because you weren't allowed shots inside the theater proper) and will upload those later, probably to [livejournal.com profile] japanorama to share with the fam as well, but WOOOOOOW. It's SO...WOW. I bought a pamphlet and will upload a couple of pics from it to show you guys, but it's amazing what you can do to a theater when there's only one show ever performed in it.

I was REALLY surprised also how often they came down into the audience! It reminded me of BuriMyu DX, where it felt like half the show was performed there XD There was even one part where Rum Tum Tugger came down, dragged this chick out of her seat and up onto the stage, and made the rest of us clap for her XD (note to self: if you go again, GET AN AISLE SEAT). Then at the very end of the show, they all came out and shook the audience's hands, and Mr. Mistoffeles (my favorite character <3333) shook our row's hands *____*

And I actually think the two guys sitting next to me who were totally on a date, one kept complaining wondering if he had enough time to use the bathroom and the other was all worried for him asking, "You gonna be okay? Can you hold it???" were former cast members o_O When one of them left to go to the bathroom, the guy nearest to me kind of settled into his chair, let out this big deep breath, and went, "Natsukashii..." ("This takes me back..."--meaning it was nostalgic). Forgetting the fact that it was kinda creepy he was talking to himself (but, well, Japanese lends itself to that I guess...) I'm wondering what could be nostalgic about it unless he had been in the cast before? It's Cats Theater, so only Cats runs there, and if he'd just been there once or twice as a kid, I don't think that'd be all THAT nostalgic. Kinda cool 8D

Random side note: I was reading through and noticed one of the actors in the pamphlet (they have a rotating cast, and he wasn't in our show) looked a little like Daiki or Mizuki--not strikingly so, but enough to kind of notice it, and I saw his name...

佐野正幸 (Sano Masayuki)

...................uuuuhhhhh.

MOTOKI-NII??? DID YOU CHANGE YOUR NAME??? It's probably coincidence--all these people could sing, and I don't think anyone related to Daiki or Mizuki could make it in there 8DDDDD

IN OTHER NEWS--CURRY BOY CONTINUES TO MESSAGE ME. WHAT?

I'm serious--I hadn't talked to him since MARCH when out of the blue a couple of weeks ago he messaged me to ask what I was up to, since he was home for a few days from Hiroshima, and wanted to see if I wanted to hang out. Since "home" for him means Gifu prefecture, next to Shiga, I had to regrettably inform him I had moved to Tokyo, and if he was ever around to let me know and we could hang out. He was bummed, but that was tough :P

Well today after turning my phone back on after Cats I got the following message:

"Courtney-san, how are you? I'm not doing so well myself..."

Me, I'm thinking, "...wtf?" Am I seriously the only one he can message when he needs someone to talk to? The random FOREIGN girl he had COFFEE with one day 6 months beforehand?? Uuuuhhhh okay XD I messaged him back asking what was wrong, and he proceeded to tell me he was feeling down because since moving to Hiroshima he hadn't really made any friends, and so I sent him back some bull about how I didn't have any friends when I moved to Japan and just went out and found people who had the same hobbies as I did, or went on trips to see friends since I liked travelling too (kinda true!). He replied that was a good idea, and asked what part of Tokyo I lived in, and how I liked it. I said Shinjuku, and said it was a nice area that didn't really feel so big-city, because it's pretty quiet, and he should come hang out when he's not busy.

His response: "Shinjuku! *haha* That's great! I'd love to come hang out. But...I can't stay at your place, guess I'll have to find a manga cafe to stay in!"

...........Oooohhhhhhh aren't we AMBITIOUS, Curry Boy? I see your reverse psychology there, Mister, and it's not working >_> You're cute, but not THAT cute. Nagayan, however, IS 8D

My primary concern now, however, is that ALL JAPANESE GUYS ARE THIS WAY. Good god, what's it going to be like ifwhen I marry Gaku?! Are our conversations going to be like this?

Me: "Oh welcome home, honey, how were rehearsals today?"
Gaku: "GOD TUTI ALMOST KILLED ME TODAY OMG YOU WOULDN'T UNDERSTAND THE SHIT I GET FROM HIM DDDD: AND TAKASHI NEVER SAYS ANYTHING! IT'S NOT FAIR!!"

(you know it's fake cause I'd never say "honey" <333)

I hesitate now the Do the Right Thing for Fandom because of this fear that once I show the slightest interest in him I will be his AGONY AUNT FOREVER. Help ;_;

...Curry Guy just called me.

Like, on my phone.

We talked for something like 15 minutes.

About nothing.

He's so weird XD But when I stopped to think about it, it was just like talking to any random friend. Talk about nothing, just to see how they're doing. Feel like a giddy school girl XD I thought when I moved to Tokyo Gaku would have no more competition in Curry Guy, BUT A CHALLENGER HAS APPEARED!!
