346. Psychology of Language. (3-0). Credit 3. Examines theories of how language is acquired, comprehended, produced, stored and used in normal and brain-impaired individuals. Prerequisites: PSYC 107; junior or senior classification.
...I can audit it at least. HOT DAMN. I'M SO TAKING THAT CLASS NEXT SEMESTER *_______* God that's, like, SO INTERESTING TO ME. Right now it conflicts with a government class I have to take, but next semester I've got, like, two classes that I HAVE to take, and nothing else.
I've been thinking lately, I like languages and all, but you can't just learn a language and have that be your job, knowing that language (unless you're a translator, and while I like that, I don't think I'd want that to be my job).
But the reason that I devote so much of my time to languages, my own and others, is because they interest me. What I find most fascinating is HOW people speak, what processes their brain goes through to form words, how different languages WORK, why grammar is grammatical--in short, the psychological side of linguistics, I've realized. So I NEED to take this class. I need to see if, well, if it'd work. Could I stand that side of science? Being able to finally use science and blend it with linguistics and Japanese?
Damn, I hope so ♥ Because I could stand, I think, going to Japan for a year, two, loving it, and continuing on to get a masters or something working towards this kind of psychological analysis of language, applying it to Japanese, working in Japanese linguistics and English linguistics and swedljuhdgiuhdgiurt I WANT TO BE GRADUATED NOW THANKS.
*sigh* I'm gonna go lie down for a while XD;;;;
