Does anyone have any idea how hard it is to actually study physics while the election is on? I mean COME ON. It's the very fate of our country on primetime (8 et/7 cen & pac) and I had to sit there and concentrate on torque and buoyancy force.

Right, THAT wasn't happening. Plus Mask of Zorro was on. Thanks a lot, roomie, for making sure I stayed on task [/sarcasm].

So, I went home for the first time this school year last weekend. Yay for the Louisiana State Fair! Went up to LSUHSC to return my lab book to Dr. Williams because I'd illegally (!!!) taken it down here to A&M with me and she asked me to just drop it by some time. While we were chatting I mentioned I was going to the fairgrounds (this was Friday, I'd just gotten into town) and she laughed and said she was passing this year--that she didn't fancy getting shot.

WTF says me.

So, confused, I laughed at it anyway and went on my merry way to the cow barn and watched as my mother and uncle got nice and sweaty and smelly clipping cows and I DIDN'T. HAHAHAA!!! I LOVE BEING TOO OLD TO SHOW AND NOT HAVING CHILDREN TO FORCE TO SHOW!

After a nice hearty laugh there, I went home and saw my little bro for the first time in two months. Sadly, no teary reunion, just a "Sup." Feel slighted. Asked him why HE wasn't up having fun washing and clipping cows, and he retorts that he doesn't fancy getting shot.

Now I'm curious. So for those of you non-Shreveporters, or Shreveporters who've been away at college and are just as clueless as I am about this, I direct you to this snippet from "The Times":

"Two days after a bullet took the young life of Elliott Jefferson, his family and friends began their mourning. The 18-year-old honor student at Booker T. Washington High School was killed Saturday night by a stray bullet just outside the Louisiana State Fair. In the somber hallways of BTW, students tried to cope with this popular student's death."

Damn...it's always us honor students. It's even more tragic that it was a STRAY bullet--apparently he wasn't even involved in the fight (I'd find out more, but the stupid Times website wants me to PAY to access the story, even though it's barely a week old.)

So anyway, the fair was nice--sat around and told people where to stand with their cows. Aaah, the power. Then Brandy came in and she and I ponced off home and watched anime for the rest of the evening while everyone else wrapped things up.

Good to be a lazy college student.

Well, how were your weeks?
