Life of Late
31 January 2007 02:42 pmSo I'm sitting here in the Blocker computer lab with 20 more minutes to kill until class, and feeling pretty good.
I set up my JET interview time the other day (haven't had it 100% confirmed, but I'm going to assume for right now this is it)--February 14th @ 3:20 PM. That's smack dab in the middle of my Wednesday, so I don't have to get up SUPER early, and still have time to take my time getting there, make sure I park correctly and find the right room (from what Johnson-sensei explained, it's a little weird navigating the embassy XD;;;;). I'm getting more and more excited as the days go by--February is turning out pretty nice~~
3 more days til Nacchi arrives, and then we get one month of Frenchie :D The weekend of the 10th I'm planning on hauling her up to Shreveport to take her out to an authentic Louisiana Mardi Gras parade ♥ She will get beaded and cupped and medallion'd and she will LOVE IT. My parents are also excited to meet her XD She'll probably be the most international person they've ever met :D
Speaking of people excited to meet our nacchikins, Conversation Table, next Tuesday @ 7:30 at Coffee Station! Yesterday's was tons of fun, too XD KY already talked about it, but I think the highlight of the evening was our, "Shizuka-chan!" exchange XDDDD I think it just says something about how pervasive that show is in Japanese culture that all I had to do was whisper that name and every Japanese person at the table perked up and started going on about, "Doraemon?? Sore, Doraemon no koto??"
Only slightly less funny was Johnson-sensei imitating the American guards at the Embassy in Houston who try their level best to speak Japanese. "SOO-ME-MAH-SIN!"
So Nacchi here on the 3rd, Mardi Gras the next weekend, Jamie and Kai-chan the NEXT weekend, the week after that Brandy's coming down, and somehow during all that I have to find a way to, you know, go to work, go to school, study for tests, tutor, do SIs, ask Shuuhei to marry me, buy a new outfit for the interview, NOT FAIL MY LAST SEMESTER.
It's gonna be a busy month.
